Marriage of Janet Young
- Stewarton
I believe that Janet Young, born Stewarton was married to John Jack sometime in 1846. John was probably born in Perth but was later in Stevenston. Janet Jack is shown in the 1851 census as a relation of the McInnes family, together with two children, James and Ann. They are probably related to Janet McInnes, nee McLauchlan/McLachlan of Ardrossan.
John Jack was probably married before and had children. The Jack family emigrated to Australia in the 1850-1860 period and are buried there.
Does anyone have an information on this subject?

Murdoch Family
- Tarbolton
I am researching the Murdoch Family who originated in Commondyke Ayrshire about 1750. they moved on to Auchinleck, Old Cumnock, Tarbolton and then left for New Zealand about 1859. My ancestor was Robert Murdoch and he married Helen Hutchison 8 October 1847 in Tarbolton. There is no documentation of her parents but she called her only daughter Annie and her sons had the middle name of Johnston so that may be a lead. Any help on these people would be appreciated.

NEWEY Family
- Tarbolton
I would be grateful for any information regarding the NEWEY family's time in Scotland. I don't think that they will appear in any Scottish Census, unless it is the 1871 Scottish Census. The couple where Ellen Mary NEWEY (formerly GEORGE)& Herbert Alpha NEWEY (an Oil Painting Artist) they had sons, Herbert George Walter Newey born in Dec' 1870 & Arthur William G Newey born in 1873, both in Aston (by Birmingham). However I do believe that their daughter, Ellen Florence Gertrude NEWEY may have been born in TARBOLTON, AYR in 1875, her birth date is thought to have been 2nd July 1875. Perhaps Herbert had taken the family up to Scotland to paint the wonderful scenery. If anyone can provide ANY details regarding the NEWEY family's time in Scotland and confirmation of Ellen's birth I would really appreciate it.
