Looking for info re Donald Stewart MacInnes, born Circa 1872 in Oban, Scotland. Connected to Stewarts of Appin. Only child to mother Margaret Stewart, father first name not known. Had connections to Sanna, Ardnamurchan, either lived there or came from there, not sure. Men in the family were fishermen, Donald's father was lost at sea when Donald was a boy. He and his mother lived with mother's sister, married name MacDonald. MacDonald family still living in Ardnamurchan.

Looking for information regarding a nurse from Oban who gave birth to a baby boy around about 1935 and gave him up for adoption in Glasgow. The baby was called Iain (Ian) Cameron and I assume this was her surname too.

Old Parish Church, Oban

Duncan McDougall (boatbuilder) and wife Elizabeth are buried at Old Parish Church, Oban. In the church is a stained-glass window by William Wilson with a plaque saying the window is dedicated to Elizabeth and was donated by her grandson Colin Ferguson McDougall deceased. Church has not been able to provide clue as to date window installed or history of donation. Anyone know story behind this lovely window by a quite famous artist?

James Ferguson died at Portnahaven March 14, 1888, age 72. He was married to Euphemia Ferguson who died June 16, 1906, also at Portnahaven. They had at least one child, Catherine b. Feb. 28, 1859, who married an Alexander McNeill March 27, 1883 at Bowmore. I have some of Catherine & Alexander's descendants. My info also indicates that James F's parents were Neil Ferguson and Margaret McEachern; Euphemia's were Allan Ferguson and Christina Ferguson. Any new info more than welcome!

Looking for info re Donald Stewart MacInnes, born Circa 1875c in Oban, Scotland. Connected to Stewarts of Appin. Only child to mother Margaret Stewart, from Sanna, father Donald MacInnes. Lived in Sanna from 1880 ish with widowed mother and widowed aunt, surname MacDonald and her only son John Stewart MacDonald. Men in the family were fishermen, Donald's father was lost at sea when Donald was a boy. Ronald MacDonald was last known family member still in the Ardnamurchan area. Donald MacInnes went to sea as a boy and served on Hosptial ships in the Boer War. I think John Stewart MacDonald was a Clyde Pilot but ended his days at his property in Sanna called Coire Sgeir.
