William Brown - Skipper Of The Lifeboat William Souter - Arbroath
Seeking information on William Brown, born about 1848 who married Elizebeth Christie (spelling?) and who had 3 children:Elizebeth Brown, Alexander Brown (Born: 13/Oct/1875), and Alice Brown.
William Brown was the skipper of the lifeboat called "William Souter" and after he retired he lived in the lighthouse in contact with Bell Rock, Arbroath harbour.
Its possible that he had a sister who may have married a "McEwan" who had a plumbers store in Arbroath. This Plumber may have two sons
He made have had another sister who left for the gold rush.
I am researching the family history of Alexandrina (Rena) Thomson Brown born 23/Aug/1914, in Dundee and who worked for for Hawkhill Bakery, 12 Hawkhill, Dundee. Thanks for any info.

Alexander Aikman was born in 1690 in the Arbroath area of Scotland and younger brother, JOhn, was born in 1695. Alexander came to America circa 1731 where he settled in New Jersey. John, wife Jean and children William, Agnes, Janet, Margaret and Alecander came to New Jersey to settle around 1740. I am trying to find the parents or other relatives of Alex and John - also to determine the maiden name of my grandmother, Jean Aikman. Do I have cousins in Arbroath or elsewhere in Scotland? I'm looking for any information on John Johnston & Euphemia nee Cameron. They, with their daughter Euphemia, moved to Abroath from Aberdeen about 1859 and had two children born in Arbroath then moved to Perthshire c1862 and back to Arbroath c1866, where their last 3 children were born. 4 of their children died in Arbroath between 1868 and 1877 and Euphemia died in 1874 in Arbroath. One of their daughters came to Australia in 1882 but can't find what happened to John Johnston he was a baker journeyman born in Aberdeen in 1829. There was a daughter Joan also on the 1881 census and they lived at 13 Hannah Street, Arbroath at that time.

Wm married in 1770 to Barbara BOUTCHART b. 1741 and they hadthe following, William 1772, Agnes 1774, george 1777, Margaret 1779, Betty 1782 and John b. abt 1784. Agnes(1774) married in 1802 to a John BUTCHART b. 1761 in Panbride, Forfar.
They had Barbara 1802, Robert 1803, Andrew 1805, David 1807, James 1809, John 1812, Ann 1814, George 1816 and William b. 1818.
Agnes (1842) married in 1866 to John OREM b. 1844 and they had George Samson 1868, James Menzies 1871, William Brooks 1873, John 1875, Agnes 1878 and Anindale 1880.

Searching for living decendants and relatives from prior 1823. My uncle Donald A Callander was born in Brechin in approx. 1823. My grandfather David Callander and grandmother Annabelle Littlejohn brought the family to Brantford, Ontario, Canada around 1828. At the age of 18 Donald enlisted in the RAF. He was shot down during the war on June 06, 1944 and body never recovered. While in England for his service training he met and married LAW Bobby Wigmore of the RAF. They had a daughter Carol Anne, which Donald never did get to see. Any info would be greatly appreeciated as I cannot seem to make any connections between the surnames prior to 1823.

My Stewart family goes back to Donald Stewart and Menny Siddle. Their first child (as far as I know) was born 1788 in Lintrathen.

My Great Aunt Rhoda Peart was born in Paddington, 1875.She married an Andrew Tocher in Broughty Ferry.He was born there and worked as a joiner. They were married in 1896 and had three children that I know of, Margaret Johnston Tocher born 26/2/1898,Robert Peart Tocher, 4/1/1900 and Rhoda Peart Tocher 14/12/1902, all in Broughty ferry.
Margaret married a Robert Ferrier Anderson in Broughty Ferry,1924. He was a merchant seaman and his father a fisherman in Broughty Ferry.
Any details of this family would be much appreciated as this is all the knowledge I have of them to date.

Seeking information on John Watson, m.1807 to Helen Steven & m. c1819 to Ann Anderson, Broughty Ferry. John (c1778-1862) leased one of two mills (flax?) on Dighty Water in early 1800's and by 1830-1860's lived at 'Windmill Cottage' beside Windmill, Broughty Castle. John used the energy from windmill for his wood turning. One of his fourteen children was Ann Todd Watson m. to James Chalmers, Broughty Ferry, 1863.
