Center- Brodie- Peter- Scott
- Aberdeenshire (County, ABD, Scotland)
I am looking for continuation back from the marriage of Margaret Center to George Peter 26 Jul 1841, Monquhitter. Margaret Center born 1824 +/- (New Deer?), to Alexander Center (b.26 NOV 1786 New Deer) and Mary Brodie (b, 5 MAR 1787 St Fergus, Banffshire).
Old letters and notes connect Margaret Center (1824) as a cousin to Sir Walter Scott. Either Alexander Center's mum was Isobel Scott or Mary Brodie's mum or dad was Scott. Letters said that Sir Walter Scott's fathers sister was Margaret's Aunt. Would like to clear up family rumors.
Also looking for any information on the George Peter line, married to Margaret. As I understand it, he built the new school in aberdeenshire before he left for the USA circa 1870.

MACMILLAN
- Aberdeenshire (County, ABD, Scotland)
I am researching my grandfather RUSSELL JOCK MACMILLAN. He came to Australia aged 7years. He was born in 1899 and claimed that he was from Aberdeen Scotland, however I am unable to locate any records of him, other that his Australian War Service records for World War 2. He served in the 51 Batallion in the Far North Queensland Regiment. He is listed in the Australian Electoral Roll in 1930 and no other record of him seems to exist. I think he 'must' have been given up for either adoption or orphaned by a family that was possibly in financial hardship. If you know of any relationship or knowledge of this person, can you please advise. Regards Robyn
