Innes - Scotland
- Old Rayne
I am searching for relatives of George Innes. Born about 1766. I think he was born in Rayne to John Innes and Elspet Gray. George married Mary Bruce in 1792 in St Cuthberts, Edinburgh. They had 6 children, John (1794), Helen (1796), George (1798), William (1800), Anna (1806) and Robert (1809). George was a gentlemans servant at the time of his marriage and the birth of his children except Robert. He was then noted as a Spirit Healer. I am searching backwards from George. In my tree I have all the information from George to myself

New/Old Rayne - Diack, Stuart/Stewart
- Old Rayne
Looking for a Keith Stuart/Stewart b1825 who married 1847 Anne Diack b1826. They had a son, William Stewart who emigrated to NZ in 1878. Keith however vanishes and Anne is listed as unmarried in the 1851 census. In the 1861 census William is living with his aunt Mary L. Diack. In 1857 Anne marries George Murray of Auchterless. Is there a big Stuart/Stewart clan out there that may know about Keith?

Searching for William Clark
- Old Rayne
I'm searching for info on my grandfather William Clark who died on 25 Feb. 1972 in Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire, Scotland. His death cert states that he was 94 (his remaining daughters confirm this age of death and I remember it from childhood) and that he was born on 27 Jan. 1878. He was married to Annie Blue on 6 Jun. 1978 in Blythswood Glasgow but his age on the marriage cert is given as 33 which would mean he was born in 1884 or the last half of 1883, a 5 or 6 year difference from the death cert. He was born in Aberdeenshire (possibly Old Rayne) and his mother and father were called Jane and William. I believe his mother died and his father remarried and my grandfather left home around the age of 14 as he did not get on with his step mother. He worked as a forester, woodsayer woodcutter etc. in Inveraray, Brodick in Arran, Hexham and Duchal estate in Kilmacolm. He never talked about a family and therefore his daughters are not aware of any brothers or sisters. I am therefore whistling in the dark a little with this one! Hopefully this rings a bell with someone

Donald Family

I am looking for anyone who can help me find the grandparents of my 4 x great grandfather Francis Donald. He was born in Cluny/Echt in 1803 to William Donald and Barbara Fraser and lived in Roundhaugh, Bourtie until his death in 1888. He was married to Elizabeth Brownie. It is William's parents that I am finding difficulty in proving, he would have been born c1775, married Barbara in January 1803 in Cluny and I presume died before 1854 before official death records. Any help would be greatfully received.
