Children were Janet Oct.8,1809 Alloa,Jane Dec.,22 1811 Alloa, James Oct.5 1813 Alloa, Helen January 4, 1815 Alloa, Alexander January 26,1818 Alloa, Robert May 16, 1820 Alloa and Elizabeth June 19, 1822 Alloa.

I am tracing my husband's family.Wentworth Morrison was born in Alloa in 1911, last son of Alexander Morrison (born about 1865), who was, we think, one of about five sons of a John Morrison. Alloa seems to be full of Morrisons, any help in sorting out the various branches would be appreciated!

David Watson (b. about 1846) - (Alloa - Clackmannanshire)
David Watson was the son of John Watson and Elizabeth Henry. His birthplace is given on later censuses as Alloa, but I cannot find a record of birth or baptism. (Perhaps he was a non-conformist, so not in Parish records.) I do not know where hespent his childhood, or whether there were brothers and sisters. He appears in the 1871 census as a lodger in Glasgow. In 1873 he married a Tillicoultry girl, Elizabeth Lawrie.

MASON - SINCLAIR -- Alloa - (Alloa - Clackmannanshire)
Captain David Mason (1805-1859) married Mary Ann Erskine Sinclair (1803-1852) in Alloa in 1825. Her parents were a Mary Mill and a John Sinclair (St Clair ?). His parents were David Mason from Tillibody and Janet Vannan m. 1791. Captain Mason and Mary Ann Erskine Sinclair had 11 children. At least 5 of the children left for New Zealand in the 1860s. May have had some connection with the foundary. One son (John Mason m. Helen Shaw) had a wollen factory in Glasgow and I would love to make contact with his descendents. Captain Mason apprentised with Duncanson when he was 14 according to his obituary. He captained the ferries accross the Firth of Forth. Would be very interested in knowing more about the Sinclair family who apparently had some wealth.

My husband's grandfather was Thomas Morrison Mitchell born at 2.0p.m. on the 5th November 1873 at Craigward Place, Alloa. His parents were George Michie Mitchell and Agnes Morrison. George Mitchell is listed as a Seaman and I believe he may have been born in Edinburgh. Any information would be much appreciated.

Nicol In Alloa - (Alloa - Clackmannanshire)
My great granfather Robert Nicol was born in Alloa in Dec 1828. His parents, James Nicol and Mary Ferguson married in February 1828. I can't find their vital stats (Birthdates and dates of death), their parents names or any Nicol siblings. Robert Nicol married Janet Latimer (born in 1836)in Tinwald Dumfriseshire. In the 1850's, they went to Canada and settled in Sutton Ontario. Robert and Janet had eight children and he passed away in 1903. I would appreciate any information that anyone can provide about his parents, gran parents and siblings.

Chalmers family from Alloa - (Alloa - Clackmannanshire)
I am searching for anyone who may have some information about my fathers family who lived in Alloa, Scotland around the late 1880's to the early 1900's. My fathers grandparents names were James Chalmers and Catherine (also known as Kate) Chalmers nee Evans. One of there daughters Margaret was my fathers mother, but we don't know who his father was as he is not recorded on the birth certificate. My fathers name was Maxwell Owen Fox Chalmers, this information we have only just found out as we always knew our father to be Maxwell Owen Morrah. I hope some of these names are farmiliar with someone out there as this news has come as a big shock to all the family.

Susan's parents shown on her D Cert; 12 July 1865 are James Ferguson and Ann(e) McEwan and have been unable to find any further detail for them as well.

Janet Margaret Glass born in Alloa 1810 who was married to Andrew Hendry (b. Alloa c.1800) and then John Munro (b.Bannockburn 1815).
Particular interest is Margaret Hendry daughter of Andrew Hendry and Janet Glass who was born in Alloa c.1839. She married John Muir Stewart in Edinburgh (1872) with her half sister Ann(ie) Munro (b.1850) as her witness.

Alloa Glasshouse Glassworks late 1800's - (Alloa - Clackmannanshire)
Now under the n ame of United Glass. I am researching two names of GERMAN craftsmen who worked there as glassblowers in the late 1800's. The names are Winkler and Mroszok. Married to my g grandmother Annie Fallon of Alloa.(not at the same time!!) anyone have any information of any Guilds that these craftsmen may have formed. Have written to United Glassworks but no reply from them. Have written to Alloa Museum, but no reply from them either.If anyone knows how I can trace any records of these men in the years they worked and lived in Alloa in the late 1800's? many thanks.

Amelia and Euphemia Flockhart - (Alloa - Clackmannanshire)
My 3g grandmother Euphemia Flockhart, born in Alloa abt 1777, moved to Stranraer, where she married Hugh Atkins (or Aitken) in 1803. Amelia Flockhart, b. Alloa 1760, moved to Kirkcudbright, where she married John Sloan in 1790. Would like to establish the relationship between these 2 women (since I can find no other Flockharts in S.W. Scotland around this time, and since both were born in Alloa, I'm sure there is one): Amelia's parents were Amelia Philp and David Flockhart; I have no birth reg for Euphemia but death reg gives her father's name as David, so they could have been sisters, half sisters or aunt and niece (since Amelia's oldest brother was another David). Am also puzzled as to why they both moved to southwest Scotland. Was Euphemia perhaps Amelia's illegitimate daughter? Does anyone have any suggestions?
