Looking for information on Nicholas Bergin born approx. 1808 Queens County who married Elizabeth Barry abt 1840 at Queens Couty. They had four children before they migrated to Victoria Australia then had two more both born at Springvale in Victoria.
Nicholas parents were Matthew and Ann Bergin, Elizabeth's parents were Thomas and Elizabeth Barry nee Mortimer. Nicholas died 1891 and Elizabeth died 1879 both at Oakleigh.
Would love to hear from anyone who could help me with information on this family. They came to Victoria approx. 1852/1853, particulary details regarding parents and if Matthew and Elizabeth had any siblings.

LAWLERS IN LAOIS - County Laois, Laoighis, Leix, Queens, LEX, (Province of Leinster, Laighin)
Peter Lawler born c1811 possibly appears in Griffith Valuation at Kilpurcel, Donaghmore. Married to Cathe with children Peter 1837,Hugh 1841,Honora 1844 and Cathe 1847 all born in Laois. They appear in 1851 census in Liverpool. I think Peter 1837 emigrates to US 1855 and Hugh 1841 eventually marries and appears in Halifax West Yorkshire from 1881.
There were links with the area around Swanin Laois and there are other possible family members in Griffith (Hugh,William and Michael) from Cullenagh,Ballybeg, and Ballinree.
If anyone is able to offer any help, advice or suggestions as to how I might try and move forward I would be very grateful.
Thankyou,
Shaun.

Carr of Abbeyleix, Ballyroan, Balinakill and Dysartgallen - Abbeyleix, Mainistir Laoise, and Parish
I am looking for evidence of John Thomas Carr (who married Catherine Susanna Johnstone) and George Carr (who married another Johnstone sister, Henrietta). John Thomas and George's father was Henry Thomas Carr of the above locations. George was head of his household in the region by 1901. I would like to know the date and locations of the marriages, and whether George and Henrietta stayed in Ireland, or migrated overseas, and when, and what became of them. Anything at all about them and their families. I know John Thomas and Catherine Susanna came to Australia, apparently after the birth of both of their sons. I don't know where they lived after their marriage in Ireland before migrating, or in what year they came to Australia. They were here by 1903, and settled in Tasmania, their sons becoming clergy and one serving continuously in NSW, the other in NSW and then in Tasmania. Any information at all about this family would be welcome. Liz
