Walsh/Welch - County Galway, Gaillimh, GAL (Province of Connaught, Connacht)
Family Bible says John Welch/Walsh was from Galway Co. He suddenly appears with wife Bridget Hennessey in the United States, state of Iowa, county of Delaware, in the 1855 census. That record says birthplace is Ireland. It is said he married Bridget in New York. No documents for proof of marriage, his death, or birth of their children. Brick wall! Their children are Edward, Mary, Margaret, John, William and Ellen. John and Bridget used the last name of WELCH, family lore says it was Walsh. Have no clue about John and Bridget BEFORE they settled in Iowa. John died approximately December of 1871. Have been searching for many, many years! Please, can you help? Thank you very much!

Mitchell family of Lissyegan - Ahascragh
Thomas Mitchell(born abt1823)(the US 1930 census for his son's household says he was born in northern Ireland)and Maria "Mary" Leonard (born abt1837) were married about 1860. Thomas's parents were probably Darby Mitchell and Mary ?. Maria's Dad was John Leonard, son of Paul Leonard. Maria Leonard Mitchell was a widow in 1911 with 7 living children of 8 born. I only know of James Joseph who came to the US, Bridget with the family in 1901 and Thomas with the widow in 1911 in Lissyegan. Family "story" states there was an Elizabeth who came to the US and my research supports a Darby who came to the US to Philadelphia.
