Rear Admiral John Richard Kelley Dublin - Dublin City, Baile Atha Cliath, and Parish
The only information written about my great great great grandfather was a small biography that said he was a Rear Admiral in the British Navy. This information was taken from a small town biography and not a history book so I can not validate that he was a Rear Admiral. His name was John Richard Kelley/Kelly and he was from Dublin Ireland. It also mentioned that my great great grandmother Catherine Kelley/Kelly his daughter was a very skilled horsewoman. She was born in 1839 at sea as the family was headed for England. John was probably born in the early 1800s in Dublin. Any information would be very appreciated. Thank you.

Healy / Healey family - Dublin City, Baile Atha Cliath, and Parish
I am searching for information on my great great grandmother Elizabeth (Eliza) Healy's family. Elizabeth married Richard Ayre (A soldier based at the Portobello Barracks, Dublin) in Dublin on 5th February 1877 at St. Peter's Anglican Church. The marriage certificate has Elizabeths father as Michael Healy whose profession was a slater. Their first child, George, was born at the barracks but Richard was pensioned from the army in 1879 so their second child, Mary, was born at 1 Brookfield Place, Blackrock, Rathdown, County Dublin in the presence of Ellen Healy who registered the birth. They then moved to Richards home county, Durham, England, where in 1881 their third child William was born. They went on to have 8 more children that I know of: Ann Helen, Louisa, Charlotte, Thomas Healey, Elizabeth, Sarah Jane, Philamena and Richard. I am particularly interested in Elizabeths mother / siblings names and who Ellen Healy was.

Beatrice Annie Walsh b 1882/1892 - Dublin City, Baile Atha Cliath, and Parish
My ggrandmother Beatrice Annie Walsh stated she was born in Dublin in either 1882, or 1892. She likely had a brother Frank or Francis who died "young". Growing up she had a nanny who smoked a corncob pipe, an irish setter and a pony. She suffered from TB (we believe it was) and went somewhere in England to recover from it. But that is about all we know of her past. About 1909 she married William Henry Deacon of Cornwall. In 1913 they emigrated to Canada. If you have a missing branch on your Walsh tree, please contact me. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Village called Nine Mile Brawn (?) near Dublin - Dublin City, Baile Atha Cliath, and Parish
Oral history from my own father in a letter to a third party: "My grandfather, Pat Moran, left Ireland sometime prior to the civil war under compulsion because the British officer did not want to shoot or hang a person so young. They lived in the area of Nine Mile Brawn (?) which was in the area of Dublin, his father was a farmer, a principal crop being fruit. ...He was in Virginia as an espionage agent for the northern army and after...he had been placed under suspicion he, my grandmother, and Uncle John left at night in a buckboard and headed west, and with army permission continued west to Nebraska." My father told me that the family had a chest of drawers with a bullet hole in the back -- one that had been in the buckboard when they were fired at by Confederate soldiers as they made their escape. I'd like to know where this village actually is. The spelling "Brawn" is apparently my father's attempt to transcribe something he had only heard. I'd like to visit the area sometime. I will be very grateful for any information.

Burke, Doyle - Dublin City, Baile Atha Cliath, and Parish
Looking for information on the family of James Burke and Mary Doyle who are said to be from Dublin. A son, Thomas James Burke, born about 1850, was a graduate of the Christian Brothers school and he went to America when he was about 15 or 16 years old, arriving in New York City where he attained work as a bookkeeper for an ice company. He is said to have later gone to Norristown, Pennsylvania to see a sister (name unknown) then went to Omaha, Nebraska and eventually made his way to the Denver, Colorado area where he became an influential and well-known entrepreneur in mining and in real estate. In a historical sketch written in Denver, he said his father was a "contractor of note" in Dublin. The only other clue we have as to his parents and family is his marriage in the Catholic Church in Colorado that gives his parents' names and says he's from Ireland. We would like to find more information on James and Mary and their children, their actual place of residence in Ireland, along with marriage/birth/death, etc. information. We would also like more information about the daughter who was in Norristown, Pennsylvania in 1865/1866. We have a good accounting of Thomas and his wife and children as well as his business ventures in Colorado which we have attained through research and we would be happy to share with others who are related to this family. But we are very interested in further information on his family and their life in Ireland and whether they actually lived in Dublin city or if it was Dublin county or somewhere else. Any further information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for any and all help given.
