Chenevix Trench, Richard

Richard Chenevix Trench was archbishop of Dublin between 1864 and 1884. He spent his childhood in the village of Bursledon, Hampshire and I am trying to find out more of his ancestry. I believe the family were from Co. Tipperary or possibly Co. Galway. His mother's family (Chenevix) were from Waterford (his great grandfather being the Bishop of Waterford). He was also an eminent poet and was buried at Westminster Abbey.

I am looking for information on my great grandfathers family which I know nothing about. His name was John Walter Carlisle born in 1845 and baptised in the Parish of St. Mary at the time he and his parents were living at 8 Abbey Street Dublin. His parents were John Carlisle and Prudence Farquhar they were married at St. Bridget's Church in the Parish of St. Bridget in the County of the City of Dublin in 1842. Witnesses at their wedding were Isaac Carlisle and John Gibbons At the time of their marriage they were both living in Bishop Street Dublin. John was a Coach Painter. I have no knowledge of other children in the family but would love to find out for my family tree.

I am looking for any information with regard to my grandmother Mary Ellen Kearney, born in Dublin
?1867 (I've been unable to track down her birth cert). She married Walter Furr, a soldier, in 1884 in Dublin. Her Fathers name was James Kearney, a groom. The address at the time of the marriage was 2 West Temple Street. Mary and Walter lived in Carlow Barracks for 9 years and settled in Liverpool 1902. I don't know if grandmother had any brothers or sisters.

Searching for info about Bernard McDermott b1850 who married Rosanna Vosser; they lived in Dublin. This was Bernard's second marriage (have no info on first wife). Rosanna is believed to be the daughter of a Dutchman surname Vosser (there maybe some connection with Rosscommon) we would love to know anything about them. After having 6 children Bernard went to USA to find fortune, leaving Rosanna to bring up the kids alone, but having no success he died on the ship home

My grandfather, James Hart, was born in February 1893 in the Rathmines area of Dublin. His father, Patrick, was a master builder. James travelled to England and lost all contact with his family. It is believed that he had at least 2 sisters, who were nurses. He changed his name upon entering England from Seamus O'hAirt. Can anyone help, please?

Father's name was John Heade, born Dublin 1864 His parents names were Thomas Heade and Ann McCreat or McCreight. Believed to be relatives named Mooney. Do these names ring any bells?

We are looking for information about the following ancestor: "George Rooke, an eminent Quaker minister of Ireland, son of Thomas, was born at Boltonwood (parish of Boulton) in Cumberland, England, in 1652. He lost his father when he was eleven years old, and his mother was left with several small children to support. At sixteen he was apprenticed to Thomas Drewry, a carpenter and joiner, one of the Society of Friends, and became a member of society. At about the age of twenty-five he appeared in the ministry and travelled much in that service. In 1686, he removed to Limerick, Ireland, and married Joan the daughter of John Cooke. In 1693, he settled in Dublin. His wife died there, 7 Mo. 17, 1737 and was buried in the Friends' burial ground on Cork Street, aged eighty four. He spent his declining years with his widowed daughter Rachel Carlton and her children, and died 12 Mo 7, 1742. --Rutty 334-7; Leadbeater, 212-226." This family intermarried with the Barclays, Carltons, Strettles/Strettells. These families are leading Quaker Merchant families of the time in Dublin, Ireland. Staniford - Dublin

On looking up my Great grandfather Robert Edward Staniford on the 1901 Census I was suprised to find he was born Dublin Ireland. When he came over to England I do not know. He married a Jane Wilson in Derby in 1900. One of his brothers an Albert Edward Staniford was living with them in 1901 Census. He went on to live in Matlock and Unstone and died at Unstone Green at 80yrs old in 1960 which is a district of Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He must have been born cira 1880 and from his marriage certificate his father was a Robert Staniford. I have been unable to find out any more about him as regards his Irish ancestry and wondered if anyone could help. Thank You Wendy

Seeking any information on William & Elizabeth (Smith) Hargrave. Title holders in 1822 to lands owned by Balfour Esq. They had nine children, 7 of whom emigrated to Australia with them in 1843 aboard the "Neptune". William was also a cobbler, supposedly of some repute. Their eldest daughter Mary Anne Hargrave & married to James Shekelton had previously emigrated and the eldest son, also believed to be William, remained in Ireland. McGuirk/ McDermott family of Rathcool

I'm looking for anyone who can provide any info on the McGuirk's of Rathcool, Dublin. I know they lived originally around Tootenhill (Just up the road) and most of them later left and moved to Manchester. My Grandad was one of them. I know Patrick Mcguirk c1914 married Margaret McDermott, these were my Grandad's parents, and Patrick worked in the Guiness Factory. Patrick died in his late 30's or early 40's. Searching Menere Ancestors

William James Menere and his Wife Frances Matitda nee Mead had their first three children at Dunalk, Louth-Henri 1944, Elizabeth 1847 and Fanny 1848 before going to Dublin where they had another two children George 1849 and Lousia 1850. They emigrated to Australia in 1852 and Francis was pregnant.
Any information relating to them would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to trace ancestors on my husband's side of our family tree. His father's grandfather was Thomas Madden born 1823 from Dublin. He was married to Isabella - don't know her maiden name. They lived in 1871 at 39 Hodson Street, Salford. Children were Bernard Joseph 1856; Isabella 1857; John 1853; Mary Ann 1851 and Margaret 1869. Also Thomas William Madden born 1884 who married Mary Elizabeth Dolan in 1912.
