DONOVAN, Ann: This was my gmother, born in Cork city, lived on 3rd ST., was a Catholic, came to USA (don't know what port she left from or arrived in) at age 11 yrs. as her parents wanted her to go to an American high school. I believe she has some relatives left in Ire. as 2 of my aunts visited them many yrs ago. (They are too old now- in their 90s, to remember who or where) She married my Gfather William Francis Orr & lived in Long Island City, NY. Ann died tragically young from a stroke, after having 4 children, My father William John Orr, Sarah, Mary & Ann. Both my grandparents died within a year of each other (c. 1932) when my dad was only 12 yrs old. Hence, we know v. little about the family. We know that the Orrs came from Ire. also, but don't know how many generations they'd been here by the time of my gfather, or exactly where they originated. (See entries of Orr under Ballymena & Donegal for a possible famous Orr ancestor) Please help me find any living relatives left in Ireland as I plan to visit there within the next year. Thanks, A
