Timothy Mahony and Elizabeth Fitzgerald Family - County Cork, Corcaigh, COR, (Province of Munster, Mumhain)
Timothy Mahony born abt 1770 and Elizabeth Fitzgerald Irish born abt 1770 were Irish Catholics believed to be from Midleton County Cork moved to Woolwich about 1802 and lived at 132 - 134 Powis Street. Timothy worked for the English Military in Royal Carriage Square and is thought to be a carpenter. Children born in County Cork were Bartholomew born abt 1792, Catherine born abt 1794, Cornelius born abt1797, Timothy born abt 1800, John born abt 1801. Children born in England wewe Margarit born abt 1804, Patrick born abt 1806 and Ellen born abt 1810. In September of 1815 Timothy depaets Woolwich oboerd the transport ship Eliza bound for Quebec. In June 1816, Elizabeth departs on board the William Sibbald bound for Halifax. I would think the children travel with Elizabeth but I do not have any record which states when they traveled. I do have one document which is part of a land grant request where all of the children are listed with notations by Margarit and Patricks stating "in England" and they are the only children who do not show up in Canada. The family settles in the Township of Leeds, Megantic County, Quebec. Any information on these people, places or things would be greatly appreciated.

Quirk or Foley? - County Cork, Corcaigh, COR, (Province of Munster, Mumhain)
John Moynahan married Ellen Foley or Quirk in the Roman Catholic Chapel of Queenstown, Cork on 14 Mar 1877. John enlisted in the Royal Navy as a carpenter almost immediately. The couple's first two children, Ellen (born 1882) and Michael (born 1884) were born in Ireland but three more were born in England when the family moved to Devon.
Ellen's marriage entry is odd:
Name: Ellen (Foley struck through) Quirk.
Condition: Spinster.
Father's name: Michael Quirk (deceased).
Can anyone shed light on this marriage entry - or subsequent history of her children?
Greg
