There are so many Banners, I need help sorting them out! I can get back with certainty to John Banner, son of William and Mary,1868-1941,who married Mary Jane Rea at All Saints, Bromsgrove, in 1889. The Banners and Reas both lived in Sidemoor and were nailing families.

Rea at Catshill Bromsgrove - Bromsgrove
Looking for details on my Gtx2 Grandfather David Rea who lived at Catshill Bromsgrove. His daughter Hannah's marriage cert dated 22Apr1893 quotes David as deceased, profession - plate layer. There is an entry on the 1881 census records with names that seem to tie in and suggest he was then a nailor. My David had 5 children Hannah (above) Henry (married Ellen Cooke), Walter (married Alice), George (married Annie) and 'Polly' (married J. Thomson). We believe 'Polly' was possibly Mary.

I am researching my great great grandmother's family. She was Rhoda Panton (nee Webley) born Devizes, 1830. Her parents were Romeo and Frances Webley (nee Winterson). Romeo and Frances were married in the Particular Baptist Church, Devizes in 1829. Romeo was born abt 1805 in Bromsgrove and was a baker. He died in 1836 but I have no idea what the cause of death was. His wife Francis died in 1844. Romeo's parents were William Webley and Joanna Silcock. Any information welcomed.

Grove, Samuel - Bromsgrove
Samuel Grove was born in Bromsgrove in 1855 or 1856. He was christened 27th April 1856, married Deborah Lyndon in Bromsgrove during the first quarter of 1882. He died in 1890. He was a market gardener and their address was The Strand. They had four children - Gertrude, Lilian, (John)Charles and (Joseph)Edmund. Any information welcome.

I am looking for information on the Abel family (also spelt Abell and Able) who moved from Chaddesley Corbett to Bromsgrove. George Abel born 1824 was a Wheelwright, his son also George Abel born 1862 was a Carpenter who worked as a Waggon Repairer in the rail industry. His son also George Abel born 1879 also worked as a Waggon Repairer. The family lived at Windsor Square and Highfield Road. The Abel family married into the Corbett, Crump and Rea families.

John Scroxton Baptist Minister of Bromsgrove - Bromsgrove
It would be interesting to find information on John Scroxtons family. His son Joseph Scroxton was indentured to Ironmonger Brazier and Tin plater in Cheltenham in 1831. John Scroxton married Ann Leach and they had 8 children. John Scroxton was born 1766 died 1854 and his wife Ann was born 1778 and died 1849. Joseph Scroxton married a Elizabeth Leach or Lench! and his daughter another Ann Scroxton married a Henry William Hawkins. This is where my husbands maternal tree stems from. We have indenture and a memorial card for John Scroxton written and printed by another of his sons.

Stevens of Bournheath Glass Works - Bromsgrove
Does anyone have any knowledge of the STEVENS family who were associated with the glassworks at Bournheath near Bromsgrove? It was started by William STEVENS in 1880 and later run by his son George until it closed in 1925. William married a Rosanna BRIGHTON. George married Olive WEBLEY and his older brother Charles married Olives sister Myra. A younger son, Frederick, married Alice DOLPHIN: their daughter Irene was chief glass designer with Webb Corbett in the 1940s and 1950s and later was at the glass department of Stourbridge College.
William was the grandson of Charles STEVENS and Maria PEARSALL of Brierley Hill, my g-g-grandparents.

I have found a baptism in Bromsgrove in 1796 for William Davice, the son of Benjamin and Tracy Davice. I believe him to be my gt-gt-gt-grandfather William Davis (who was living in King's Norton in 1841) as his eldest daughter was called Tracy, and his wife was born in Bromsgrove according to later censuses. He was unfortunately deceased by 1851. I have searched the PRs for other evidence of this family in Bromsgrove with no success - does anyone else recognise these names?
