Milsom Family - Bradford-On-Avon
James MILSOM (d 1822) a blacksmith in Bradford on Avon in the early 19th century, married to Mary (possibly HUNTLEY). Sons, Charles Huntley (b abt 1797, married Eliza BATCHELOR) and James (b abt 1817, married Rebecca DREDGE of Trowbridge). Daughters,Sarah (b abt 1815, married Thomas ORCHARD) and Mary (b abt 1820, married Samuel OBORN and emigrated to USA). Also Charles Huntley MILSOM's sons Charles Bonini and George (an Engineer/Blacksmith in Bradford on Avon until the late 19th century). I would like to hear from anyone with connections.

Blacksmiths Iron Founders & Agricultural Engineers - Bradford-On-Avon
The Milsom family were blacksmiths, iron founders and agricultural engineers at Bradford-on-Avon during the 19th century. James Milsom who died 1822 had a forge in Bridge Street, near the site of the Library (not the shop recently known as "The Olde Forge"), and also built a house in the same street. His son Charles Huntley Milsom carried on the business, moving to a site in Trowbridge Road, Bradford-on-Avon. Charles died in 1860 leaving the business to his son George. George had retiredby 1897 and after retirement in Bradford-on-Avon died in a Bath nursing home 1919. Earlier still a John Milsam appears as the master blacksmith in a 1741 indenture and as bondsman in a 1763 marriage, also a Richard Milsom, blacksmith, was buried atHoly Trinity in 1796. The Trowbridge Road foundry was operated by the Uncles family well into the 20th century. I would like to know if anyone knows more about this business, or come to that, any other of the blacksmiths, iron founders and engineersworking in Bradford-on-Avon during those times.

Though she is featured in the census 1871 through to 1901 I can find no details of her parents etc. other than her marriage Cert shows her deceased fathers name was Samuel and he was a Clothier Journeyman believed to have come from Bradford. Hi - I'm lookin for information about a Davis family who lived in Bradford on Avon. I believe I may have traced a distant relative called Samuel Davis, who I think was born 1792 approx. I beleive this Samuel Davis moved to Bath, to the Walcot district and settled there where the Davis family lived for many years. I could be totally wrong though. This Samuel Davis may not even be connected but I'd love to hear from anyone who has any info on Davis family from Bradford on Avon, especially if you know of a Samuel Davis who moved to Bath.
