John/Job Maskelyne - Ogbourne St George
Records indicate that my great great great grandfather, Job or John, was christened on 14 December 1823 in Ogbourne St. George as John, son of Robert and Mary. Robert is shown as a labourer at the time of the christening. There is no record of a Job being born at this time to a Robert Maskelyne, Maslen or Maslin etc. Job married Diana Miles/Mills on 17 Sep tember 1842, in Preshute. At the time of their marriage, both were living on Wick Farm and Diana was older than Job. Job's father is shown as Robert, which would appear to tally with the christening records and later Job and Diana gave birth to my great great grandfather John in Marlborough in 1850. Can anybody help to verify whether John is Job, in 1823, and the maiden name of his mother. It seems likely that it may have been Willougbhy who married Robert Maskelyne in 1812.
