descendants of David Mannings - Figheldean
David Mannings (b 1816) was the farmer at Choulston Farm in Figheldean and married Harriet Howel / Howells from Chisenbury in 1839 at Netheravon. Their son William was my great grandfather, b c.1851. He had siblings John and Sarah. William married Emily Plank from Figheldean in 1878 and they had nine children, Sarah Harriet, Rhoda Beatrice, John, George, Tom, Charles, Frank, Annie and Ethel. Sarah and Rhoda both went into sevice in Sheffield around 1900-1905. If anyone in Wiltshire recognises the names, do let me know as I can fill you in on the sisters who went north!

David b 1816 son of James b? a farrier. David had brothers Michael b 1813 and James b 1820, all Figheldean. See my other Mannings entry for more, but info on this James b 1780ish much appreciated.

Found - Figheldean
William Found was found in Figheldean - an abandoned child about 1787. He married Rebecca and had 2 children, one is Fanny Found, born 1854, my great grandmother, who left Figheldean to live in London and married Charles Whitworth. Any information about the Found family would be most welcome.

Frances SUTTON and three younger daughters of John and Dianna Sutton, were born at Fisherton Delamere between 1789 and 1800. Any information about the ancestry of this family would be very welcome. Frances Sutton married John Northeast at Alderbury, Wilts. in 1815.

TACKLE or TACKELL, KEEL - Fittleton
Looking for William Tackle, b. 1790 Fittleton/Haxton, m. Elizabeth Keel of Enford, June 1821. Elizabeth & children emigrated to Lincoln Co., Ontario, Canada shortly after 1851 UK census; William does not appear to have gone with them -- did he die in UK shortly after census? Family were Baptist -- have visited the graveyard in Netheravon -- too overgrown to find his stone if there was one.

Looking for any information on the Goodfellow family. Known - Francis married Diana(?) in 1799 known children are Grace, George & Moses. Grace married Thomas Biffin in 1836 & Moses married Joan/Jane Clark also in 1836 both came out to Australia on the "Woodbridge" in 1838

Frank Coombs/Coombes born c1863 - Fovant
Frank moved to London between 1881 and 1890. He married Charlotte Mary Ann Jones during this time. They had two children, Madeline and Frank, both born in Chelsea. Would appreciate any information on him or his family. Would also love to be able to track down their marriage certificate as been unable to do so. Have checked all of Frank Coombs/Coombes marriages in Wiltshire so think they married in London. Any help or tips would be very much appreciated.

Osman Martin - Fovant
I have an ancestor Osman Martin who lived and died (d1740, SSG) in Stoke St Gregory, Somerset (SSG). He was married to Elizabeth (d1735, SSG). They had 3 children Osmond (1725-1840), John (b1731) and Mary (b1734).
A link suggests that Osman senior hailed from Fovant, Wiltshire and was probably bord before 1707. There is no reference and I've been unable to verify this. Can anyone help to clarifiy Osman senior's DOB, parents, and/or his wife's surname. (No record of marriage at SSG). Any help/hints gratefully received.

William Ellen 1775-1808 married Dinah Bowles 1775-1804 in Shaftesbury in 1795. Dinah's father was called Henry and was from Fovant or Tisbury. I would appreciate any information on the Bowles family and any connection to those living in Gillingham. I have also found a Henry Bowles from Fovant getting married in 1744 to Elizabeth Marsham and again in 1755 to Ann Marshall (born 1720); is this Henry's father?

Julia later married Elijah Antony ELLEN. Elizabeth born 1838, Thomas b 1831; Julia b 1859; Walter b 1867, James BLAKE b 1860 (marriage of Thomas + Elizabeth was 1859)

The Burts of Fugglestone - Fugglestone St Peter
I am descended from Frances (Fanny) Burt born 1806 to Charles Burt (a carpenter) and Mary Arnold who lived in Bemerton/fugglestone from 1790 to around 1820. Charles died in 1838 in Barford St Martin. I believe he may hae come from Wimborne St Giles in Dorset but cannot trace him properly.
Frances later married George Oliver at Ibsley in Hampshire, who was the gamekeeper at Moyles court.
