Does anyone know of Lily Holdsworth who lived in Barnsley? I know from the census 1901 that her father's name was George and mother's name was Mary Ellen. She was born approximately 1899 and had several brothers and sisters, she was the youngest. I think they were named Amy, Elizabeth,Albert, Horace, and possibly Minnie and Johnny. Hi I am looking for my husband relative's.
My husband father is Marcus Leo Aquila Wilkinson born on the 11-Mar-1908 his sister is Myrtle Elizabeth Wilkinson, their parents are Aquila Wilkinson and Margurite Wilkinson nee Jones.
They were married at Barnsley, in 1904.
My husband family of 4 came to Australia in about 1912, and lived in New South Wales.
Aquila, runs in the family possable almost in very generation.
My husband name is Aquila also.

My Ggd parents James Wilkinson (b.1857) & Ellen (nee simmons) were living in Shaw Lane, Barnsley in the early 1900's and were inn keepers. I'm trying to find out where the pub they ran was(I assume it was in or near to Shaw Lane), I would appreciate any suggestions of how I could do this. John Henry Smith - Worsborough - (Barnsley - Yorkshire, West Riding)
I am looking for information about John Henry Smith. He was born in 1881/1882, possibly in Leicestershire, before moving to Worsborough, where he worked as a brickmaker and married Minnie Heaton. They had two sons, Jack and Joseph and may have been living in Birdwell. I believe John died of influenza in 1914. According the the marriage certificate, his father's name was James Smith.

My mother's maiden name was Chitoriski, her father was Joseph Chitoriski, her mother Annice Millington (Wilcox). Joseph's parents came to England from Germany around 1850 (I think). I'm looking for information about the Gilberthorpe family of Barnsley. William Gilberthorpe married Susannah Hyde in 1822 and their son William married an Esther Shepherd. The family seem to have died young in the 1850s and I wonder what happend to their children Susannah and Walter? I think Susannah went on to marry a George Ward and then a Thomas Barrass.

I am resarching my family and am anxious to find the family, desc. of john e cannon known a jack, born sheffield 1867, his wife maria born dudley port staffs 1869 and daughter mary ellen b staffs 1886. 1901 they were living in hemsworth and jack was a coalminer They subsequentley moved to Barnsley and I know that there is a connection to the wilkinson family of wombwell which I am trying to verify. I know that ellen wilkinson b1868 at lundhill wombwell married in jan 1887 a john cannon and I believe that prior to her marriage she gave birth to a son Ralph Wilkinson who always lived with his grandmother Margaret Wilkinson at 5 Boundary street. althoough his mother a washerwoman lived alone a few doors away. Ralph married 1909 and I believe that they had 12 children and were living in wombwellinthe 1950s
