LEE/CRABTREE looking for information
- Batley
I am looking for information on some ancestors. I was able to find that Thomas LEE and Hannah CRABTREE were married in the registration district of Dewsbury in the West Riding of Yorkshire in the first quarter of 1889. The reference in the General Register Office (GRO) index is volume 9b, page 663.
At the time of the 1901 census - there were no records of them and their son Joseph Edward Lee - was living with his grandmother Sarah Crabtree - but not Tom or Hannah - I am assuming they both died prior to 1901. I have been unable to locate any death certificates etc.
Also, I am searching for information in their parents. I know that Tom's dad was Samuel "Sam" Lee and I don't have anything for his wife. Hannah's mother's name was Sarah A. but she was widowed at the time of the 1891 & 1901 census' ...
Any information or guidance would be appreciated

House History
- Batley Carr
I am searching the history of my house. The house and the surrounding area was sold in 1901 by Anne Wharton to messrs Kilburn. I have traced back to 1836 when the area was owned by J. Wharton,
The building became two cottages in 1901 previously it had been a warehouse. I am trying to find out what the warehouse was used for. Has anyone any ideas please.
Anne married into the Wharton family, she married Frederick Wharton in 1873 before that she was known as Anne Hirst Fozzard daughter of Abraham and Martha Fozzard of Batley Carr.
Around 1850 surrounding properties were owned by J. Wharton, Joseph Wharton, Christopher Wharton, Josh Wharton, Jno Machill and W. Rhodes
