indenture on parchment 1748
- Lower Dunsforth
looking for relatives of thomas clark and ann bland who married in 1748 apparently in lower dunsforth--- other place names include whitewell field, howfield, westfield, although these may not be used anymore. the indenture is physically quite large and (obviously) full of 18th century legal jargon, all beautifully handwritten
the father of the intended groom is william clark, the father of the bride is robert bland
although no actual wedding date seems apparent,
the indenture is signed, sealed, and delivered in wakefield, 9th june, 1748,and witnessed by three men, namely
john close
will. chapman
and william towlerton
this is jus a small amount of the information contained in this document
i would be very very pleased to be able to give thisindenture back to the descendants of thomas clark and ann bland--- if anyone can show me irrefuteable evidence of descendancy to the above mentioned, please e--mail
