Jessop in Kirkheaton area - (Kirkheaton - Yorkshire, West Riding)
Does anyone have any details of George and Hannah Jessop (nee Buckley or Roberts?) married in Mirfield. George was a clock maker. Their son Thomas (b. 1819)moved to Hull before 1843. Thomas was my 3X Gt Grandfather and record suggest that he had siblings Hannah, George, Mary, John and William. Any info on that name in the area would be a great lead. Many thanks, David

My great grandfather, Thomas Dixon and his brother George were bornabout eighteen months apart circa 1820-21. They were both christened at Kirkheaton on 15 October 1821. Their father was Abraham Dixon and his wife was Laetitia (nee Taylor.
Do your parish church records show any details of where they were living at the time and, possibly names offriends/relatives who might have been shewn as God Parents or witnesses?

My gr-gr-grandad James Bickerdike (1801-1844) lived in Kirkheaton at time of 1841 census and with his wife Hannah and chdn Richard, William and Betty. Son Dan born 1842). My Grandfather, John Francis Bradley (1883- 1938), was a Managing Director of John Bradley & Sons Abbey Mills in the 1930s. He was the son of Joseph Bradley (1855-1931) and the grandson of John Bradley (1827-1910) who I believe originally founded the company. 1841 Census Edwin White aged 12 lived with Rebecca Walker and Willian Pick and three other children all with different surnames (orphans?). Glover, Joshua - Vicar of Knaresborough - (Knaresborough - Yorkshire, West Riding)
Joshua was 5th son of Joshua Glover, Yeoman, of Ossett, and the eldest son of Joshua's 2nd wife. £60 was left to him in his father's will for 'his maintenance at the University'. Tenure at Knaresborough was from 1716 until his death in 1734. Family documents say he 'was desirous to be buried near the ashes of his wife', presumably 1st wife who died in 1726. Although he had several children, the surname carried on only through his 2 younger brothers.
