My great great grandfather was Ben Halstead born in Kirkburton in 1826. Ben died Sept. 11, 1875 at the age of 49 years and was interred in Kirkburton. He married Jane Wood and they had at least 9 children. Jane and some of her children emigrated to Canada after Ben's death. I would appreciate any information about Ben's family and Jane's (Wood)family.

My Uncle was Alec Bevers Wilkinson and the family talked a lot about Bevers, Ann Bevers my Gt Grandma, was born in Emley 1820, daughter of Isaac Bevers and Sarah nee Chaple. The earlier members of the family arrived in Kirkburton, c1703.maybe after Abraham Bevers & Susannah Beaumont were married at Birstal Church.

I am looking for Eliza Grime who married Thomas Butcher of Shelley who was born abt 1804. Eliza was living in Kirkburton in 1851 but died in 1859 and is buried at Kirkburton All Hallows Parish Church.
I can;t find her pob or dob and don't know her parents. Ancestry suggested (incorrectly I think) that her details were 1809 Portsmouth. Well 1809 could be correct but Portsmouth is likely wrong.
Can you find this anomally of mine and put an end to hours,days,weeks,months of toil to achieve nothing!

Catherine Swales / Hammond / Pounder / Mood - Kirkby Malzeard
I am interested in my Grandmother's family. They had several connections in the area around Masham.
Her Grandmother was Catherine O'SHEA was lodge keeper at Swinton Hall in 1881/1891/1901 (Married name Catherine SWALES).
She was born in Quebec in ABT 1824 and married Mark HAMMOND, a soldier in the 68th Regiment, in Quebec in 1844.
Their son John was born and baptised in Quebec just before the regiment returned to England in 1844.
The regiment was in Chester for a period in 1846 and their daughter Isabel was born and baptised there.
In 1851 she was living in Laverton as pauper widow of a soldier.
She married John SWALES in 1854 but he died a few years later.
Her daughter Margaret SWALES was born 1860 and married Thomas MOOD in Masham.
Anything on any of these families would be very welcome.

Daulby Dalby Dolby - Kirkby Overblow
Researching the Dalby family of Kirkby Overblow. A Robert Daulby and Elisabeth Daulby ( both the same surname but NO degree of consanguinity ) married here in November 1725. He was 26, from Collingham, she was 20 and living in Spofforth, but not originally from there. There are no christenings for any of their children in KO, although 40 years later our direct ancestor Thomas Dalby ( father Robert, Mother Elisabeth ) and 4 siblings were christened here ( 1761 > 1772 ). We are searching for the missing generation. Any help greatly appreciated.
