My grandmother, Edith Haigh, was born 15 July 1895 at Waller Clough, Golcar. Her parents, Joseph Buckley Haigh b 1858, Old Lindley and Ann Bamforth b 1862 Stainland, were married at the New North Road Baptist church, Huddersfield on 15 March 1888. Thomas Bamforth, father of Ann, was born 1839, Scammonden, and died March 1915 at Waller Clough, Golcar. He is buried in the Pole Moor Church graveyard.

Robert was the son of Richard Cocit and Elizabeth Shutt . Richard's origin unsure but possibly Horton on Ribblesdale or Dover Kent . His marriage is recorded both in Harewood AND at Paver ( Dover) 16-10-1714 presumably by proxy.

They owned several businesses including a Green Grocers which my Grandfather worked in before going in the mines.
