Emmott family - (Addingham - Yorkshire, West Riding)
My grandfather was Ambrose Emmott, youngest of 8 chldren born to James Emmott born abt 1847 and Ellen Hawkridge b.abt 1850.
I would appreciate more information about his mother Maria Emmott b. 1823 (was she a single mother? until she Married John Stephenson on 27 Jan 1852)not thought to be James' father.
My father, Sidney James, was only son of Ambrose Emmott who was a Royal Marine and died in France at the end of 1918.

Simpsons - (Adel - Yorkshire, West Riding)
John Simpson (born Watton-at-Stone, Herts in 14 Oct 1838) - a "Bleacher/Dyer" came to live at Scotland Mill Cottages, and lived there at the time of the 1891 Census, his wife Jane, sons John,Joseph, Charles A, Nathlanial and Arthur and daughters Fanny, Bessy, Christina, Amelia and Isabella were all there with him. Any further information would be appreciated, his daughter Amelia was married at Adel Church in 1905.

Hainsworths of Adel - (Adel - Yorkshire, West Riding)
Looking for anyone researching descendants of James Hainsworth born Stanningley 1664 moved to Adel ca. 1702 with wife Jane, sons James, Joshua, John and daughter Rachel; later children Abigaill, Moses, Hannah, Aaron. Abigaill married Richard Watson in 1716. Hannah married James Pearson. Rachel married ? Hocks. Think I descend from John or Joshua. Am not sure of descent for next generation. Next "for sure" ancestor, Samuel Hainsworth born 1769, miller of Adel. His memorial stone says his Wife was Nancy but I cannot find any record of a marriage. Anxious to find maiden name of 'Nancy'. Their son, William Burrows Hainsworth is my 3greats grandfather.

Jane Farrand B1825 Adwick-le-Street - (Adwick Le Street - Yorkshire, West Riding)
parents were William and Hannah. William was the
blacksmith for the village. Jane had an illegitimate child in Doncaster Workhouse 1847
and her daughter Ruth is baptised at Adwick church. all the family disappear from Adwick in 1851 there is no mention of them anywhere in the Doncaster Census. Can anyone help?

Anthony married Margaret Brown (1774-1847) of Calton, Yorkshire in 1798 at Kirkby Malham, Yorkshire. They had 6 children between 1798 and 1808 - Mary, Elizabeth, Margaret, John, Edward Brown and Robert Benjamin. Anthony was a farmer at Airton.

I am seeking descendents of Jonathan and Mary Ellen Smart ( nee Rockliffe ) in particular Herbert Rockliffe Smart born at 42 Lock Lane Allerton Bywater in October 1896 . He served in the Military in WW1 and was, at one stage, posted to, or on leave in, Bridlington. Rumour has it that after the war he went to Salonika, thence to Australia. School Street Allerton Bywater - (Allerton Bywater - Yorkshire, West Riding)
Elizabeth and Walter Mills lived in the township of Allerton Bywater and a letter I have gives their address also as being near Castleford. The census for 1891 shows their address as 129 School Street. The Mills children were, Richard 18, Arthur 15, Lily 13, Rose 10, Elizabeth 7, Harry 5, Louisa 3 and Fred 1. Walter died in 1902. Elizabeth was born in 1847 in Toft. She was the sister of my great great grandfather William Mills. If you know anything about this family or can tell me if this address might still exist any information would be very appreciated.

Thomas jnr and Mary's children were Hannah (b1831) William (b 1833) John (b1838) Thomas (b1840) later a joiner, Edwin(b1843), Henry (b1845), Mary (b1849) and Ann(b1850)

I am trying to research my paternal grandparents and their ancestors. My grandfather was called Fred Watson and lived in (18?)Kaye Lane, Almondbury. I don't know his wifes name, but my father was Arthur Watson b May 1923. I have a feeling that there may be a connection to Pannal in North Yorkshire, possibly through his wife.
