George Frederick Tucker - (York - Yorkshire)
I am looking to find out more about my G G Grandfather George Frederick Tucker, he was born abbt 1857. He lived in York between 1882, when he married Emma Goodyear and 1890, when he died. He is buried in York cemetry in a public grave with no memorial. His occupation on the birth certificates of his children is musician in 4th West Yorks Militia based at Fulford Barracks. Can anyone help me to find out more or possibly know where I can get hold of army records to try to find his birth place.

I am trying to find out what kind of residence 2 Barker Hill, York was in 1881. There are 40 boys living there between ages 9 and 12 but it is the household of a 70 year old Chelsea Pensioner and his family. All the boys are recorded as scholars but is it a school?

Looking for information for James Richard and Sarah Ellen (nee Medd) Boyes. They were married at York Register office in 1908 on 6 June. James was shown to be a groom/domestic and Sarah Ellen a domestic servant. They were living in 17 Skelton Street and 16 Rosslyn Street when they married. James's father is called Robert Harper Boyes and Sarah's Samuel Medd. Any information after 1908 would be great. Sarah was born in Marton in Cleveland near Middlesbrough, and lived in Middlesbrough until 1906/1907.

I have found that the WARDS are connected to the Flower Shop 'WARDS' which is still in York today. Ann KITCHEN is my great aunt she notified the death of her father my gt grandfather William KITCHEN Chr abt 1820 Myton on Swale died 1899,in Clifton Asylum 1899. I would love to find other researchers of this family.

Trying to trace the birth of Mary Wear/Weir in York c1848-1851. She was a Catholic and I know she was married in December 1868 in St Georges R.C. Church York. Her address was given as Dennis Street York.I have found her on the 1851 census at 171 Long Close Lane, York. It states she is 6months of age on the census return whilst the marriage certificate states her to be 20 years old at that time.

I am researching my family history on my mothers side. Her mothers maiden name was MCKEGG. I have managed to trace some of my ancesters back to 1847 but i wonder if there are any relatives out there doing the same as me?. My grandmothers name was Emma and she had 6 siblings. 3 lived to adulthood. The MCKEGGS lived in York all the way back to 1847 but i do not know where they originated from. Looking for any information about Lance Corporal William Walker, his wife Sarah Ann Robinson and their children. William Walker was at York Cavalry Barracks in about 1889 to 1893. He married at York in 1890. Sarah Ann Robinson was the daughter of John Robinson, a farmer of York. The 1891 census indicates that Sarah was born in York while the 1901 census states Tadcaster. William and Sarah had 5 children: 1. Grace Margaret, b. 1890, d. 1892 at York Barracks; 2. Lilian Violet Ada, b. 27 Aug. 1893 at Cahir, Co. Tipperary; 3. William Aubrey Victor, b. 9 Oct 1895 at Newbridge, Co. Kildare; 4. Mizpah, b. 28 Aug 1897 at Canterbury (Cavalry Barracks) Kent; and 5. Doris, b. 6 Sept 1899 at Canterbury (Cavalry Barracks) Kent. I am looking for any information on the Barstow family that live by York. There family home was not far from outside the city walls in a neighbouring village. The Family dates back thru many centuries and my greatgrandmother Maude Barstow was from there. She moved to Canada and married Monty Northcott. She had 4 brothers (Hugh, Wilfred, Mont and John) along with 2 sister's (one named Phyliss). 7 children in total. I am trying to find out more information about the Rhodes family of York. Robert Rhodes born circa 1740 married Margaret willoughby in 1762 at York. Their daughter Margaret married Frederick mallatratt. Frederick went into partnership with Edward Willoughby Rhodes as Tailors and Woollen drapers. the partnership was disolved on 1st April 1816. Frederick was originally from Huntingdon and his only other family member who was living in York was his sister Phebe who died a spinster in 1831. I am willing to compare and share all information that I have.
