James William Yates was supposedly born in 1835 in Birmingham or someplace in the area. He married Mary Hetherington in 1857 and by 1861 they were recorded as residing in Brightside Bierlow, Yorkshire. His occupation was bricklayer in 1861. I have been unable to find any records of his parents and siblings and I am looking for sources where he might be found

Any details on the family or descendants or ancestors of Edward VERNON born c1800 in Birmingham possibly to John VERNON & Jane THOMAS. Edward was a Silversmith. I believe that he may have married Elizabeth BARNSLEY (born c1797) at St Martins church in Birmingham in 1823. Children were Thomas VERNON c1823, Edward Hall VERNON c1826, Jane VERNON c1827, James VERNON c1828, William VERNON c1830, and John VERNON c1830 all born in Birmingham. William Hands -1800's - Birmingham
Looking for William Hands, Sunday afternoon preacher for the Reverend Thomas Swan at Cannon Street Baptist Church, Birmingham.
William's son,Thomas Hands, born 1818, married December 1842 at Cannon Street Baptist to Ann Smith, (father Joseph, a Gent) and both set sail to Jamaica in January 1843; Thomas being a baptist missionary.
Seeking any information.
Thomas Hands had 4 children born in Jamaica - 3 survived (Thomas Larter; Sarah Ann; Marianne) and returned to England with family in 1853, settling in Salisbury where my great grandad George Herbert Hands was born 1855.
Thomas Hands died in Middlesbrough Yorkshire 1870.

Sargeant or Sarjeant of Birmingham - Birmingham
Ive just discovered that one of my ancestors was probably a Sarjeant not spelt with a G as previously thought.
She was Elizabeth Sarjeant married to John Deag and her wedding cert states a Samuel Sarjeant and a Lydia Sarjeant who I believe were her brother and sister in law. The wedding took place in 1813 so would love to hear of anyone else who has Sarjeant links in Birmingham around that time.

William LEWIS (born c.1831 in Birmingham) married Harriet JUKES (born c.1835 in Birmingham) on 27 Nov 1854 at St.Phillips, Birmingham.
They had at least 6 children between 1856 and 1869 including John (born Birmingham 24 Aug 1861).
William's father, George Lewis, is recorded as a 'blacksmith' on son's William marriage certificate. 1861 Census for the family records George 'born Swansea, Wales'.

She had 2 daughters Amy Alice and Elizabeth Sophia. I cannot find her before the 1881 census; either with her father George Powell, and her mother is as yet unknown.
