My ancestors (then called Messant, now Message) arrived from France in the early 1500's. The Daughter of Thomas Messant appareently married a Sir Lewkoner, but I can find nothing about him or his family. They married in East Grinstead. Does anyoneknow of a family bearing that name? Rice Family in Worth East Grinstead area - East Grinstead
I am searching for any decendants of Charles Rice and Mary Dancy. I know they had a Son Charles born in 1860 and 4 daughter Lucy who married a Thomas Kent and they had at least 3 daughter and Maria who married a Thomas Lines and had 4 children Florence , Millecent, Robert Charles and Lorna Harding Lines. Charles and Mary's fourth daughter was Lousia Ellen who married a Luke Killick and they had 4 children Lousia Ellen, Ethel, Lawrence Archabald Paul, and Gwendoline Agnes. Their 5th child was Chatherine Eliza and I know nothing of her. I am interested in finding anything out about any of these family members but would like to know what happened to Lorna Harding Lines. She is with Maria Lines in the 1901 Census and is 5 months old but we have no idea what happened to her after that. I know that Maria came to Canada in 1902 or 1903 and later brought Florence and Robert to Canada but no one knows anything about Lorna. Any help would be wonderful. I suspect that the father of Lorna may have had the surname Hasting.

Have just received my great grandparents marriage cert. Charles Thomas Blackstone and Ann Langridge married april 1886 at Moat Church, East Grinstead. No fathers name was written on cert for either of them. I know Ann was named as a Compton in the 1881 census, and her Mother was Emma Compton then and also 1891 and 1901 census. There was a Jack Compton, birth 1867 info from 1881 census. Any info about Charles and Ann would be gratefully received.

Looking for more information on Henry Foster who was manager of a pottery in Wellington Town in 1861 and later a potter in Charlwoods Row in 1871, he had married Tamor / Tamar Payne in EG in 1861. By 1881 he was in Moat Road and then at The Pottery, Imberhorne Lane in 1891 and 1901. By 1901 he appears to have a second wife Emma. Does anyone know what pottery he made and where was The Pottery?

They had 6 children (Elizabeth bpt 1748, Mary 1749, Richard 1750, Sarah 1753, Jenny or Jane 1755 and George 1765, )born variously in Trotton, Chithurst and Harting. Richard was buried in Harting 4 October 1768. Does anyone know where he was born, and where or when Elizabeth was buried? All information welcomed.
