His Father was an Albourne Farmer called Daniel Starley born 3rd Jan 1802. Butchers of Ecclesden Manor - Angmering
Walter Butcher lived at Ecclesden Manor from 1918 to 1951. There are two stone seats in the Square, Angmering, one remembering Walter's wife, Margaret, and the other remembering a Captain Francis Campbell Norbury ( who died in WW1)Both were put there by the British Legion in 1950. Does anyone know the connection between the Butchers and Capt Norbury ( who was a Housemaster at Oundle ) please ??
