Walter Butcher lived at Ecclesden Manor from 1918 to 1951. There are two stone seats in the Square, Angmering, one remembering Walter's wife, Margaret, and the other remembering a Captain Francis Campbell Norbury ( who died in WW1)Both were put there by the British Legion in 1950.
