|Scott family Croydon - (Croydon - Surrey)
We have a great mystery surrounding an Arthur Henry Scott, who says he was born in Croydon around 1866 and who had a father called Henry. There is also the possibility that he was born in 1859. He also said he was in the army/Boer War, and later called himself Captain Scott - he also said he was related to Robert Falcon Scott of Devon - and finally the Antarctic. But who knows? So if anyone has information about Henry Scott of Croydon or Arthur Scott of Croydon we'd be very grateful to hear from you. Thanks.

|Webbs of Croydon - (Croydon - Surrey)
In researching my grandmother's family history it is believed she was in a children's home in the mid 1920s in Croydon after her father died. Her name was Violet Catherine Webb and she was born in Croydon in Dec 1916. Her mother was Catherine Webb (born 1876) and her father Harry Webb (born 1844).
Her mother put her in the home but when someone was interested in adopting my grandmother from there she vetoed it and took my grandmother back.
I am looking for any information on this period in my grandmother's life. Any information on the home my grandmother may have ended up in, or any other information on my grandmother or great grandparents would be gratefully received. Thank you, Jackie.
