HOBBS SUMMERS

Looking for info on the Summers family living at 44 Cottage Row, Bermondsey St James. Robert Summers b ca 1798 Grays, Essex, lighterman, and his wife Honor Elizabeth Summers, formerly Hobbs, nee Card b ca 1805 Bermondsey. They had three children: Amelia Sophia Summers b ca 1839, Emma Clara Summers b ca 1846, and John Summers b ca 1848. The GRO indexes do not contain either the marriage of the parents, nor the birth certificates for the children. !!!!
Amelia married Charles William Townsend in 1859 and had a large family. A descendant, wrote to me in 1989, and at that time, I could see no connection between us. I would love to hear from her again.

Searching for information on Charles Campbell, Goldsmith/Jeweller, who married Ann Mason (born c1806) in the former St. John Horsleydown in 1824. They had children, Charles Christopher, Maria Mason, John Mason, Elizabeth Ann and James. I know Ann Campbell and at least some of her children moved to Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1837. She was living at Leazes Terrace when James was born. Charles Campbell died before 1857. I would like to know when he was born and where, who his parents were and where he worked.

does anybody know or have any information on the curtis family from bermondsey/rotherhithe .they moved there in about 1880-1881 from the camden/grays in area.they where originally from dibdenin hampshire.the head of the house was thomas curtis born 1850 in dibden hampshire,he was married to elizabeth simpson b 1854 in southsea hampshire.they had 7 children charles j curtis b1877 regents park/camden area,henry curtis b1879 grays inn area,stephen curtisb1880 in pentonville area,frederick curtis b1881 bermondsey,frank curtis b1884 bermondsey,thomas curtis b1888 rotherhithe and george b 1890 rotherhithe.in 1881 they lived at 123 keetons rd,bermondsey, in the 1881 census in 1891 census they lived at 32 union rd,and in the 1901 census they lived at 88 bird in the bush road,camberwell.both the parents worked in the hat making industry. i know their son frederick moved to uxbridge in west london in about 1914-1917.their other son charles j was living at 8 hill street,camberwell in 1901 he married ellen louise keeble.they had 4 children ethel alice b 1901,beatrice ellen,charles george andfrank ceril.i know charles j died in 1950 in st olaves hospital southwark and his wife died in 1965 in the st johns estate bermondsey and their daughter beatrice lived in thurland rd , bermondsey at the time of her death.please if anyone has any info could you please let me know.thanks tania

They had 2 children who were christened in Bermondsey, Mary 1804, and Henry 1805, and 4 who were christened in Rotherhithe, John 1807, Thomas 1809, William 1811 and Sarah 1813.
