John Barnard my 2x g.grandfather b.combs about 1793 ref census.Last known residence Queens Hd. Nayland -Victualler,(confirmed).He was a retired coachman.I have found a burial in Nayland in 1871(prior to the census). However the given is 83 which would give a birth year abt.1788, it also gives his occupation as Harness maker. Any information on a John Barnard in Nayland would be appreciated.

Jeremiah Ellis Sparrow - Nayland
My great grandfather Francis Ellis Sparrow was born in Nayland 6 May 1851. His sister Ann b.1853 and brothers John b 1855 and Edwin b1856 were also born in Nayland. His father was Jeremiah Ellis Sparrow who married Elizabeth Allen 27 July 1850 in Stoke by Nayland. I beleive he had married a Maria King 26 May 1845. i do not know what became of her. He died in Nov 1858 before his daughter Martha was born in 1859. His widow Elizabeth a dressmaker and the family are recorded at Honey Tye in the 1861 Census. If anyone has further knowledge of this family I would be grateful to hear from them.

Robert Chester - Needham Market
Looking for Robert Chester born c 1805 know not where or exactly when. He was a tailor by profession and appears on 1841 census at Rattlesden, Suffolk aged 36 with his second wife and family. On 1851 census his wife is described as a widow. He is described as a widower at his marriage on 9 June 1835 at Barking, Suffolk to Priscilla Soar. They had several children at Rattlesden and then at Needham Market, Suffolk. The last child with Robert named as father was George Chester born 30 March 1845 at Needham Market. Maurice Chester was born 18 May 1849 at Needham Market with Priscilla Chester as mother but no father named. On Maurice's marriage cert his father is shown as John Chester a coal dealer. Priscilla's second husband (remarried 20 Aug 1854) was John Vincent a coal dealer ! Despite extensive research by myself and others we cannot find the death details of Robert Chester, so do not know where or when he died. Nor can we find his place or date of birth or any details of his first marriage. Robert Chester was a man of great mystery ! Any help would be much appreciated please, to help overcome this great brick wall. Alan

What Happened to Emma Basket? - Needham Market
Emma Basket left Needham Market in sad circumstances in the mid 1800s. She and her family according to the census lived in the Bull Inn on High Street. Her father was James Basket B 1913 and her mother Emma Basket B 1914. Some tragedy occured and she left Needham Mart.and moved to Leeds where she married Dan Lancelot Dawson. My mother Betty Dawson always said that Emma (her grandmother)left Needham in very sad cercumstances, and I would like to find out just what they were.

Would be delighted to hear from anyone researching the TALBOT family from Norton. Originally from the village of Wattisfield, an ELIZA TALBOT (b 1821) settled in Norton. She was quite a colourful figure, having a number of children , both within and outside marriage! I think she married JOSEPH GOULD / GOOLD. In total, she had at least 9 children between 1837 - 1863. Eliza herself died, I think between 1881 - 1891 - possibly back in Norton but some of her GOULD family were by that time living up in Shipley, Yorkshire.

FRANKS John (1677-1762) - Offton
John Franks of Ipswich came to Offton after marrying Sarah BEVERLEY (supposedly "of Offton" though did not find her baptism here) in Ipswich in 1675. They baptised seven children here between 1712 and 1727, five of whom died in infancy, and both were buried here. Am keen to find where Sarah came from, also to hear from anyone connected with these families.

I first found Thomas Jordan when he appears here marryng in 1675 Mary Goodchild alias Muttit (c1650-1712). Mary had previously had a child by Nathaniel Mee, miller. They baptised daughters here in 1680 and 1685 and both Thomas and Mary were buried here. I am ineterested in finding out where Thomas and Mary came from. Their daughter Sarah married John Prentice in Rngshall and remained there (althouhh I have never found her burial)
