SMITH,MATTINGLEY,and HAXELL families. - (Ipswich - Suffolk)
My Elizabeth SMITH, b. abt 1826 Cheshire, was on the Ipswich 1851 census under her married name Scholefield. The family were with a George and Sarah Ann HAXELL (b. abt 1829 Ipswich) I have a George and Sarah Ann's marriage 1850 in Ipswich in which her maiden name is Sarah Ann Soar. I was expecting the name to be Smith, or Mattingley Smith, as I have been told she was Elizabeth's sister. Can anyone help me out here with either a different marriage between a George and Sarah Ann,
or some proof of her relationship with Elizabeth?
Thankyou very much,

COLEMAN, ABBOTT - (Ipswich - Suffolk)
I am looking for any reference to my Grandfather, EDWARD ALBERT COLEMAN who married KATIE KATHLEEN ABBOTT at Woodbridge in March 1918. According to his marriage certificate Edward's father was EDWARD COLEMAN, Seaman, deceased before 1918. At the time of this marriage Edward was a Corporal in the 24th Manchester Regiment and his army number was 2511. He gave his address as 19 Chapel Lane Felixstowe and his age as 21. It is possible that he was married before his marriage to Katie, who died in 1982. I was told he had come 'from abroad' to enlist in the army, so he may have been born abroad and even retuned abroad after he left Katie and their 5 children in 1929/30 when they were living in Ipswich. There has been no sign of him since; can anyone help to locate any reference to him? I have been looking for him for more than 10 years now with no luck so far. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
