I am looking for the family of Charles Aldred (bn.1860's) and Alice Maud Jessup (Bn. 1876 ish) they married in 1895. They lived in Ipswich. They had 3 children Florence Alice (known as Florence), Charles Allen and Arthur William. Charles, the elder, had a sister Annie who married a 'Burton'and lived in Woodbridge Road. Charles died in early 1942 while living at the Ship Launch Inn, Ship Launch Road, Ipswich. I have 2 addresses for the birth places of the three children in Woodbridge Road and Belle Vue Road. Florence married a French man and it is believed she emigrated to France. Any information as to the whereabouts of descendents of any of these people would be appreciated. I am a direct descendent.

September 1837) who was a prolific writer of natural history books, was editor of Science Gossip, and became the Curator of Ipswich Museum from 1872 to 1893. He married SARAH HARRIET BELLAMY whose father was School Headmaster at Stoke Holy Cross, Norfolk. John and Sarah had MAUD TAYLOR b. 4.9.1867,at Norwich, single, a nurse at Norwich; EDITH ELLEN TAYLOR b. 1870; KATHERINE MARY TAYLOR b. 1874 at Ipswich; and MAY BELLAMY TAYLOR b. 1879 at Ipswich. I am looking for a Fred Lawrence the father of my great grandfather Frederick Lawrence who served, and was killed, with the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers during the First World War. I believe that Fred Lawrence was born in 1854 but for some unknown reason his son, my great grandfather, was born in Kusali, India in 1877. How Fred Lawrence got to India or why is a mystery. I suspect that he was also in the British Army to be in India at that time. Does anyone have any information on Fred Lawrence?

Always was told my great-grandmother Amy Abbott was of Romany descent. She was the youngest of 12 children, the family lived at 4 Abbotts Court, Fore Hamlet. GG-grandfather William Abbott is listed in the 1881 Census returns as being born in Ipswich in 1828. I understand that it was usual for Romany people to list wherever they lived as their birthplace. Anyone ever hear of Abbott's Fair operating in the early to middle 1800s? Would love to know more. Thanks!

I am trying to trace the parents of Caroline Elizabeth King, she was born around 1862. She married a James Manning on 17 Oct 1888 in Ipswich,giving her Condition as widow. She had a child called Ethel Caroline King who was born in 1886 in Ipswich. On Caroline's marriage certificate to James Manning she gives her father's name as Robert Davey. I am unable to find a birth entry for Caroline Davey around 1862 so possibly Davey wasn't her maiden name. Can anyone help?

Was Hannah related to a certain James Fernsworth transported in the 2nd fleet to what became Sydney in Australia for stealing a bushel of Wheat?

George Henry GODDARD married Mary MOORE in Kelsale Suffolk in 1805. He died in Saxmundham Suffolk in 1861. Seeking any other descendants of this couple including descendants of Benjamin, Alfred, Robert , Frederick, and daughters if proved, and theirson Henry Moore GODDARD who is one of my GGG grandfathers. The son Henry Moore GODDARD emigrated to Australia in 1854 with his wife Elizabeth BRIGHT. Francis Wilby who married Tom Newson and lived in Ash Cottage in Carlton and her father Spencer Wilby.
