Jeffries
- Hadleigh
My father, Thomas Charles Jeffries was born Hadleigh Suffolk 1902. At the 1901 Census the family lived in Calais Street. Mother was Emily Jane Clarke (nee Wentworth) and father Daniel Charles Jeffries (Occupation Brickmaker). His sister, Kitty was born 1906. Emily died soon after Kitty was born. By 1939 Daniel was living in Regent Street Ipswich. Does anyone recollect this family. Thomas was apprenticed as a blacksmith in Hadleigh, then went to Australia some time in the 1920's I think. He became a Salvation Army Officer. Kitty would be my aunt, there may be another relative called Walter, perhaps her son. Does this ring any bells?
