George Ford born in 1842 came to be known as the Major although he was a Blacksmith and agricultural machinist later. He and his family had a lot to do with helping the poor but I'm not sure how, any information would be wonderful to fill in the gaps.

EYE or nearby Poorhouses Information Late 1840s
- Eye
Has anyone any information or can they point me to any literature specifically regarding EYE or nearby poorhouses. I have already tried www.workhouses.org - I understand that there are only a few surviving records for EYE poorhouse. Believe my 2 x great grandfather was a foundling and on future census records he lists his birthplace as EYE, Suffolk - which may or may not be correct. Believe he was probably born between 1846-1850. Census and marriage details make his birth around 1849. His name was Samuel Mills.

EYE - Elsey/Warren

Hallo - Could anyone confirm any more details of Henry Elsey who married Sarah Warren. IGI confirms marriage date 11 Aug 1790. They went on to have sons John and Thomas, possibly more. Married in Eye. Then went to live at some point in Occold. The Warrens become a new chain in our family tree, so any descendant detail would be great.
TIA

EDWARD ALBERT COLEMAN
- Felixstowe
I am looking for any reference to my Grandfather, EDWARD ALBERT COLEMAN who married KATIE KATHLEEN ABBOTT at Woodbridge in March 1918. According to his marriage certificate Edward's father was EDWARD COLEMAN, Seaman, deceased before 1918. At the time of this marriage Edward was a Corporal in the 24th Manchester Regiment and his army number was 2511. He gave his address as 19 Chapel Lane Felixstowe and his age as 21. It is possible that he was married before his marriage to Katie, who died in 1982. I was told he had come 'from abroad' to enlist in the army, so he may have been born abroad and even retuned abroad after he left Katie and their 5 children in 1929/30 when they were living in Ipswich. There has been no sign of him since; can anyone help to locate any reference to him? I have been looking for him for more than 10 years now with no luck so far. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
