Martha Orris and Sarah Orris - East Bergholt
My Great grandmother Sarah Orris was born to Martha Orris (single woman) in 1832, but not baptised until 1837, both events in East Bergholt, Suffolk. I am trying to find Martha's birth,baptism, marriage (if any) and death details. There is a Martha Orris b.1802 on record but she was married by 1832 with different surname? Any assistance or information would be appreciated please.

I am looking for information regarding Jacob Reynolds, Innkeeper. Jacob and his wife Eliza Mary had 8 known children. I am trying to find a death date for Jacob and if possible a maiden name for Eliza Mary. Their oldest child James, born 1838 married Annie Merrison. They traveled to the United States where Annie died. James returned to England. If anyone has information regarding any of these people I would appreciate your help.

Any details please of George and Caroline Stannard who lived in the village. In 1901 census George, William and Samuel worked in the Ironworks in Leiston. I think they had four children. William, Sam, Edward and Emily. William married my maternal grandmother Eliza Goodwin who lived in Aldringham. William was killed while with the 1st battalion the Essex regiment in Gallipoli in 1915 aged 30.

I am trying to find the marriage of Henry & Elizabeth CAPON who baptised 7 children in Easton: Mary 1721, William 1722, Robert 1727, Hannah 1732, Martha 1733, Edward 1736 & Martha 1739. The son William CAPON married Lydia BUTTON according to a marriage licence although the actual marriage has not yet been traced. I have found 4 baptisms of their children although they may have had more: Infant bap & buried in Wickham Market 1752, Hannah bap 1753 Dallinghoo, Mary bap 1755 Dallinghoo & Lydia bap 1763 Easton. Mary married James MANN in 1778 in Boulge & lived in Dallinghoo & Charsfield. If anyone can identify this family or can help me in any way I would be very grateful.

William WRIGHT married Martha THURSTON in 1763 in Easton where they had 6 children between 1764 and 1775: Martha, John, Mary, Ann, Esther and William. Martha THURSTON was baptised in Clopton in 1743, dau of Edward THURSTON & Martha LAWRENCE (Laurence) who married in Clopton but their 7 further children were born in Bredfield between 1746 and 1765: Edward, Esther, Ann, Dinah, Rebecca, Amy & William. Martha LAWRENCE was baptised in Framsden in 1725, daughter of Stephen & Anne Lawrence who baptised 2 further daughters, Deborah & Dinah, in 1729 & 1731 in Framsden. If anyone can recognise any of the above I would love to hear from them.

Robert White from Assington married here in Edwardstone in 1655 to Mary Canham of Milden (1628-?) and they baptised two children here 1656 and 1657 before moving to Great Waldingfield, where they baptised my ancestor Robert in 1661, after which I have lost trace of them. Has anyone come across likely burials?.

Primative Methodists - Elmswell
Harry Manning and Annie Elizabeth Goldspink married in the Primative Methodist Chapel Stowmarket in 1869. Both were living in Elmswell. One witness was a Robert Atkin. Would be interested in info on any of these surnames and also concerning the Primative Methodists.

My ancestors are William Leader or Leeder (b. Elmswell 1787, d. Woolpit 1871, m. Elizabeth), and his son, Robert (b. Elmswell 1822, d. Elmswell 1897, m. Robert had 8 children (among them my great grandfather, George Leader, who brought his family to Canada in 1906) and more than 20 grand-children. The Rev William Macfarlane - Elmswell
In 1892 William Macfarlane (who had been Vicar of Elmswell since 1878) having purchased Impington Hall, which had one time been owned by the Pepys and stood just outside of Cambridge. He had recently inherited his uncle's estates and changed his surname to Mafarlane-Grieve. To commemorate his time at Elmswell he had the rod screne repainted and a plaque put up. He also gave up the Ministry at that time. The Village Society at Impington has some information on him, which they are willing to share.

John Garner, married Vallis Atkins and moved his family to Stow Bedon....I have a feeling the family is connected to Tyrrell Garner of Euston and Soham Toney, as Tyrrell Garner is linked t the family down the ages, and one of the grandmothers said all Tyrrell Garners are related. There is a rumour that a Garner who was a Gamekeeper ran away with the land owners daughter...not confirmed of this. If any one knows differently please let me know.

My Ancestors were Thomas Parr of Exning, I have his tree going back several generations,to 1673. He married Susan Howlett they have children, Susan 1779 and William 1780 these are the only children I know of. Thomas then married his second wife. Margaret Howlett who i imagine was related to his first wife. They had Martin 1785 christened 10 April 1785,John 1784, Alice born 16 2 1787 died 23 June 1787,William christened 16 April 1788, Alice 16 January 1791,Mary 2 April 1793 died 9 May 1793. Mary Pricket was born c.1755 and married Martin Warren (born 1753 in Exning)on 10th October 1776. I am attempting to trace the descendants of this couple. One of the children of Martin & Mary that I am particularly interested in was Sophia (Sophy) who married John Stevens (born 1795 Bottisham, Cambs) in Exning on 14th May 1818.
