Family of Enoch Gaunt - (Bilston - Staffordshire)
Enoch was transported to Van Diemen's Land in 1830. He left behind a wife and 4 children who were placed in N P Bilston Stafford factory. On arrival he had a daughter, Lydia, who was adopted by her uncle, Robert Burrows, who was also a convict and was raised in Derby. Would appreciate any info on Enoch, his family and/or Robert.

I would love to hear anything about my grandpa's cousins Jessica and Albert Everitt. Albert, who was a First World War Veteran, became a recluse after his sister's death and his home in Wellhead Lane fell into a very poor state of repair. A lover of animals, he kept rabbits, in later life he went into a home and died in 1986 aged ninety-four.

I am looking for any information on David & Thirza (Trafford)Sumner, born 1856 (?) in Bloxwich. Thirza's parents are Emanuel & Caroline (Roobotham?) Trafford. David, Thirza and son George E., born May 4, 1878. George E. came to the US at about the age of 8, presumably with his parents considering his tender age. I have been unable to find anything on their departure from the UK or their arrival in the US. George and his wife Maud are listed in Michigan's 1910 census, along with their children,nothing prior to 1910. George E. is my late husband's grandfather. My husband died this past 12/26/03 and I have decided to continue my research for the Sumner side of the family.

Seeking descendants, or any information, re CARTWRIGHT family known to have lived in the following streets in Bloxwich:-Elmore Green Road; Bell Lane; Short Heath; Bellfield Row;The Green; Sandbank; Victoria Street from at least 1851. In 1982, Charles, Ada & Stephanie CARTWRIGHT lived at The Green, Bell Lane, Bloxwich. Records show that in 1984, Charles and Stephanie remained at that address but, by 1985, only Charles resided there. Any other information with regard to the area, etc., would also be gratefully received.

Searching for descendants of JOSEPH BENTLEY (Awl Blader) and REBECCA, his wife, (Awl Tack Filer) both born in Bloxwich about 1820. In 1871 they lived in SANDBANK, Bloxwich, with their three daughters, MARY, 21 years; EMMA 19 years (both Awl Tack Filers); DINAH EVANS (Widowed daughter) 24 years and her daughter DINAH EVANS, 2 months. It is known that MARY married CHARLES CARTWRIGHT at St. Peter's Church, Walsall, on 20.5.1872 and they went on to have at least four children; CHARLES, JOSEPH, JOHN J. and ARTHUR. Any information re descendants, or the occupations of Awl Tack Making / Filing would be welcomed.

A 1939 Street Directory for Clarendon Street, Bloxwich, showed C. CARTWRIGHT at No. 19 and W.C. CARTWRIGHT at No. 25. Does Clarendon Street still exist? Does anyone know who these Cartwrights were, or the whereabouts of any surviving members of theabove Cartwright family, please? They may be distant relatives and any information would be very useful to my family history research.

Searching for descendants of Priscilla, Julia and Rose H CARTWRIGHT, listed as living at 86 Bell Lane, Bloxwich, between 30 June 1945 and 1948. By 20 November 1950, Priscilla and Julia only are listed at that address. In November 1951, Priscilla, Julia, Rose H. Powell and Edward G. Powell were shown there. By February 1956, Julia Cartwright, Rose H. Powell and Edward Powell were listed, but not Priscilla, and in February 1957 Julia's name disappears. Between 1957 and 1982 Rose, Edward and Emily POWELL are listed. Are any of these three still alive? Are there any descendants out there? Any information very useful for family research.

Re earlier entry for Priscilla, Julia and Rose H. CARTWRIGHT. Now known that Julia died on 18 August 1955, and that Priscilla (married to a 'Bill' - surname believed to be COX)was her daughter. Believed Rose was her daughter or daughter-in-law andwas married to a George. Obituaries also mention in memory of 'Aunt Julia' from Doris, George and family and 'Great Aunt Julia' from George and Kath. It is now known that Rose H. POWELL (maybe nee Cartwright)and her husband Edward G. POWELL lived at 86 Bell Lane, Bloxwich on their own until 1964, when they were joined by Emily POWELL until 1968. They were then on their own again until 1986 when they were joined by Priscilla COX (possibly mother of Rose H) who remained until 1989/90. Electoral rolls shows that Edward G & Rose H remained at the address until 1993, but their names then disappear from the listings. Where are they / their descendants now, please? Any help towards completion of family tree will be gratefully received.

I am researching the Baugh family of Bloxwich. In particuler I would like to find out more about Mark K. Baugh. He was born in 1840 and in 1901 he lived at 90 Reeves Street in Bloxwich. His wif was Maria Taylor born 1837. His occupation was given Coal Mine owner in the 1901 census and in the book A History of Shropshire his name is linked with Isaac Thompson and Ralph Steadman. It is this period in his life which interests me and I would like to find out more about this përiod in his life along with that of his sons.

My grandmother Florence's family lived in Bloxwich from the 1860s to about the 1920s. Her father was Joseph Leese, died 1894, her mother Sarah died 1920s.There were 10 children. I have lost track of Joseph born 1860 in Stone, Thomas & Sarah both born 1858-60 in Cellarhead and James born in Bloxwich, who had two children Jimmy & Tommy born in the early 1900s. My grandma's sister Elizabeth Leese born Bloxwich 1869 married Lawrence Kerrigan in 1906 in St Peter's Catholic Church. He lived at 2, Wolverhampton Road, known as Kerrigan House and was an agricultural labourer/gardener. He died in 1920. His mother Ellen was there with him in 1901 as was his sister Margaret who was married to James Durkin. Does anyone know of anyone connections?

PUGH/COOKE/DALE and GRAY families - (Bloxwich - Staffordshire)
I am trying to trace any information about the Pugh family from Jerome Road or Dalaston Road Pleck area up to 1980's, the Cooke family from Trees Road Walsall area, the Dale family from Birmingham who's daughter Mary, married Joseph Cooke in Walsall. Joseph was killed in WWII and his widow Mary, later married Dennis Gray. They went on to own the Harding pub in the 1960's and later moved to Essington then Telford.
