We are researching the Tunnicliff family tree who lived at Wilshaw Bottom Farm, Hollingsclough near Longnor. They lived there from the 1700's until about 1930 when the farm was sold. The earliest date we have at the moment is 1749 but we think they were there before that. The first name we have is Joseph Tunnicliff born 1749 who married Sarah Mellor also born 1749. Joseph died 1807 and Sarah died 1815. They had 7 children that we know of. Joseph 1775-1852, Elizabeth 1778-1858, Mary 1771-1846, Sarah 1774-1849, Ann 1780-1802, Moses 1784-1854, Martha born ? died 1840. Joseph the son of Moses inherited the farm and married Martha Millward and they had 13 children,Henry 1852-1921 who married Mary Ann Smith and later lived at Flash Bottom Farm, Joseph 1852-1922 who married Alice Wardle and lived at Moor Top, John 1853-1901 who married Lavinia Eyre and lived in Buxton, Moses 1855-1910, James 1860-1932 who married Emilia Hand and later carried on the farm and sold it about 1930, Sarah Ann Tunnicliff 1860-1940 who married Harold Hand and lived at Ball Bank Farm Hollingsclough, Frederick 1863-1924, William Herbert who we beleive moved to the midlands and became a police officer.
