I have found my great great grandad living in penkridge in a place called Marsh. He is living with a housekeeper and not his parents. What was this place Marsh in 1881? Why would a 5 year old not be living with his parents?

Davies - Penkridge
I am trying to find traces of Thomas Davies, who married a Laura Ann Heath from Wolverhampton. Thomas should have been born in Penkridge in 1857, but I have been unable to find any trace of this. He and Laura had four children, Jane who married MrWhitehouse and had two boys, Cyril and Alan, Nellie who married Mr Morris and kept the flower shop in Penkridge, Herbet (my Grandfather) who married Nellie Payne from Orsett, Essex, and Fanny, who married Mr Rostance the local undertaker, apparantlya well known name in Penkridge. Any information would be appreciated.

Bernard Meeson - Penkridge
I am looking for the family of Bernard Meeson (Lowe and Wincer surnames used) (b abt 1883, d 1917 - WWI battle of Cambrai). His name is on the war memorial by the church. Any help would be appreciated as his sole surviving daughterand decendents would like to know about his other family members. He left a wife Isabella (Gripton) and two daughters who live/lived in the Cannock area. I have details on many Meeson trees in Penkridge but have recently linked them to the surnames Lowe and Wincer. I now believe that the family can from Gnosall and Bradley just north of Penkridge. George Nelson SILVESTER was born 23rd October, 1805 in Bilston, Staffordshire. His parents were Henry SILVESTER and Jane WEBB. He married Sarah CRITCHLEY on 8th April, 1837 in Penkridge. Sarah's parents were John and Sarah CRITCHLEY, believed to be from Penkridge. Children of George and Sarah SILVESTER are: Mary b 1837 in Bilston, Ann b 1837 in Bilston, Sarah Jane b 14 Mar 1840 in Bilston, William Horatio b 16 Oct 1841 in Bilston, John Thomas b 16 Feb 1844 in Penkridge, and George Albert b about 1847. In 1841 the family lived in Church St, Penkridge and to our knowledge still lived there until they arrived in Australia in Dec 1852. Would like more information about this family during their time in Penkridge.

Marriage of Henry Stanworth and Harriet ? - Pensnett
Henry Stanworth (bc.1830, Oakengates, Shropshire) married Harriet before 1860, presumably at Pensnett, as their child, Charles Stanworth, was born there c.1860. It's possible that they also had a John H Stanworth bc.1858. Harriet died in 1888 (Stourbridge ref). Henry died sometime after 1901; probably soon afer, as it appears he was in hospital in Kingswinford in the 1901 census.

Trying to make contact with anyone with information on Brown family from Perry Bar Birmingham. My father was christened Ernest Edwin Brown born 1920 but was known as Jimmy, and his father went by the same name. They ran a garage in Smethwick until 30 years ago. My grandmother lived in Halesowen, I am not sure if my grandfather lived there or not as he died before I was born. I have my fathers wedding photo and there seems to be a lot of relatives on his side. My fathers siblings where Gladys and Frank, would love to know more about my grandfather or grandmothers side.

Am trying to find a baptism for Ann Baker bc1830 in Pillaton/ Gnosall. She was living with her grandparents Robert and Mary Baker, nee Evans, in Pillaton in 1841. I think she was illegitimate as when she married Robert Owen in 1855 at Penkridge therewas no father recorded.

JONES, HALL, STEVENS - Pleck
My GG grandparents were Samuel and Annie Hall who were farmers (poss.address - Norncoth(?)) within parish of Abdon at Stoke St.Milburyne, Shrophire. I have a copy of the baptism cert. for their son John Hall who was baptized on 1 July 1837, cert. is signed by 'H.Wilson Rector of Abdon'. We know John was married twice - he had 2 children to his first wife (Samuel and Sara). After the death of his 1st wife he married Eliza Jones on 11 August 1868 at St.Johns Church, The Pleck, Walsall. They had a further 7 children one of which was my grandmother Emma. By the time Emma was born (1883)they were living in Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire (now Cumbria). Emma married Charles Henry Stevens and had 4 children Maude, Elsie, Gladys and Charles Henry (Jr) - who was my Dad. They lived in St.Lukes Street most of their married lives. Does anyone have any common ancestors? Would love to hear anything which could be relevant. I am now living in Australia and would dearly love to pass on family history to my own grandchildren. Joan

We know that Samuel Flavell was born on 1st November 1838,in Gornalwood,to a Hugh and Roseanna Flavell. he worked in the coal mines at Corbyns Hall Dudley. He later married Rachel Hickman and they went on to have a large family.Still living around the Gornal area.He did own a brickworkes on Penn Common towads the end of his working life,when he relocated to live in Sedgley. Looking for information on Thomas Maybury b.1841, married to Amelia Beddall and second marriage to Eliza Jones. Also his father, William Maybury, c.1800 married to Eliza Morris b.1818 from Monmouth, South Wales. William died age 47 in 1847 from encephalitis and Eliza went on to marry Isiah Deeley. Also lived in the Cradley and Brierley Hill areas. William Maybury c1800 had a brother, John Maybury b.1798 and was born in Wrens Nest, Shropshire or Astley, Staffordshire - both entries on census records and was married to Sarah Morton b.1796. There is also a David Maybury who is a witness at the wedding of William and Eliza and am interested to know where he fits into the family.
