My g g grandad was b.Tamworth 1824 name Thomas King wife Sarah . Children Samuel James b 1854, George b. 1858, Jemima( my g. grandmother born a cripple)b.1860 , Agnes Alice b. 1862, John King b. 1866, Clara b. 1869. The family moved to Yorksire and lived at 15 Nostell Row near Wakefield W. Yorks. Jemima marr. Joseph Tunnicliffe my g grandad and had children Agnes A.b. 1882, Joseph b. 1884( my g dad ) Peter b. 1876 burr. in Wragby church in Nostell Priory grounds, John b.1888, William b 1889,Sarah b. 1874 d. 1901 and Samuel b. 1886. John King had a large family and I believe marr. Emily Woodcock and a lot of their children settled around Ackworth and Featherstone. My family history to date starts in Dilhorne, Staffordshire. G,G,G,Grandfather Robert Harris married a Sarah, and details are unknown at present. To date they had two children Enoch(G.G.Grandfather) born 1798. Baptised 4th November 1798 @ All SaintsChurch Dilhorne. Louisa Baptised 2nd October 1800 @ All Saints Church. Research so far looks as though Louisa may have married a Thomas Stirrup @ All Saints Church, found in I.G.I. My G,G,Grandfather as above had the occupation as a farmer, and owned Romer Farm, in Staffordshire. He married a Sarah Nicols/Nicholls on the 25th January 1819. spelt two ways on research info. They had the following children. Louisa, baptised 27th August 1820 @ Fulford. Staff. Sarah Baptised 9th December 1822 @ Fulford. Mary Ann Born 30th May 1824, Baptised 6th June 1824, @ Checkley,Beamhurst, Staffordshire. Married Sillitto(3rd) 1864-65 place unknown. Died 3rd October 1888 @ Alton, Staffordshire. Buried in Catholic cemetry, Alton. Enoch Born 29th September 1825, Baptised 2nd October 1825 @ Checkley. William, Baptised 17th June 1829 @ Checkley. Emily(Emila) in mormon records. Addition to Harris in Dilhorne - Dilhorne
In addition to a previous entry I can now confirm that Robert Harris married Sarah Cash on 14th April 1796 and the farm called Romer is situated today at Burston, Staffordshire. It has also been found that Enoch Harris who married Emma Woolrich couldhave married a daughter of the previous owners of Romer Farm, as the Woolrich family owned it prior to my g,g,g,grandfather buying or renting from the woolrich family. If anyone can get me further back in time in finding Roberts father I would appreciate the help. Where is the best place to find this information or if you have this information please let me know.

Marriage date 24th May 1856 All Saints Dilhorne. Father's were George James deceased Collier and Thomas Harris deceased Blacksmith. George James Christened at All Saints Dilhorne 29th March 1782 (Father John James and Sarah) married Catherine Bradshaw on the 1st March 1819 Stoke upon Trent. (Probably All Saints Dilhorne). Banns of marriage between John James and Sarah Bagnal both of this parish were published in this church (All Saints Dilhorne) on three usual Sundays. Viz 3rd, 10th and 17th September 1775. James of this parish, bachelor and Sarah of this parish, spinster. Married in this church by banns this eighteenth day of September in the year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Five by me B Woolfe Clerk. Any connections please get intouch.

Mary Bettaney - Dilhorne
It is understood that Mary was born in Dilhorne around 1810. Her mother was Elizabeth and two of her sisters were named Elizabeth and Sarah. The birth certificate of Henry Mitchel in 1842 shows his mother to be Mary Mitchel formerly Bettaney. Any information about her would be welcome. The only trace found later is a broken cross which may relate to her death. It is propped up against St Giles R C Church in Cheadle. It reads "Mary Bettaney died 15 July 1848"

Thorley & Wallis Families - Draycott in the Clay
Hi, is there anyone who is researching the Thorley & Wallis Families of Draycott in the clay, Staffordshire. My Gr, Gr, Grandfather was Joseph Thorley the son of Joseph Thorley & Mary Wallis of Draycott. Joseph arrived in New Zealand around 1865 via Australia (we think). His father was a Fruit Seller in Draycott. Does anyone have any early history of this region. Would love to hear from any relatives. I am researching the films of Birth, death and Marriages and it seems that the Wallis Family arrived in Draycott in the 1780's and the Thorley family have been there for generations. Regards Paul.
