On the marriage certificate he is at that point a grocer by trade and Portshead Villa is quoted for both as a registered address. Is PV still there. I am told that he was born in the Hull area but am finding it really difficult tracing the rest of his siblings. His father is listed as Arthur Wilson a traveller and an Elizabeth Wilson is a witness. I have no means of knowing whether she was his mother, sister or sister in law. I gather he was the eldest of 8 children and was 28 at the time of the marriage. Any help would be appreciated.

Creswell Manor - Creswell
Robert de Eyton, Lord of Eyton-on-the-Wealdmoors, Shropshire (d. circa 1195), also was Lord of Creswell Manor in Staffordshire. My questions are as follows: 1. Does anyone have information about this manor? 2. Were there any Eytons or Eyton connections actually in residence there? If not, is the tenant known? 3. Where is Creswell and how far from Eyton-on-the-Wealdmoors in Shropshire might that be? 4. Under whom did Robert de Eyton hold Creswell, William Pantulf, baron of Wem, or Warin the Bald, first Norman Sheriff of Shropshire? 5. Is anything known about the familial relationship betwen Robert de Eyton and the two above mentioned individuals -- from the Staffordshire perspective. Note, all but Cresswell of Robert's seven manors were in Shropshire. I find this odd. Therefore, was this part of Staffordshire once considered part of Shropshire? Many thanks for any answers forthcoming. Rick Eaton
