Badman Moon Family - Holcombe
James Badman married Martha Moon in Holcombe in 1801. James was a not from this parish and I am trying to find out where he was from. They had 10 children: Ann, Elizabeth, Sophia, James, William, Henry, Mary, Martha, Joseph, Francis. Elizabeth born abt 1802 and Sophia born abt 1805 were not baptised in Holcombe. So, I am also looking for where they may have been baptised.

Charles ORAM b Hornblotton married Hannah Susannah PADFIELD b Kilmersdon at St James, Bath 8th Nov 1841. His father given as John ORAM and would like to know if this is the John ORAM living in 1841 at Alhampton, Ditcheat with 3 children, Mary 12 yrs, Sarah 8 yrs, and Ann 3yrs?. There was no mention of a wife but John was living with his Mother Mary age 70 Schoolmistress, Sisters Mary age 51 and Ann age 45 both unmarried and both Knitters.

Emma Jane GODFREY was born at Horsington in 1841. Her parents were Edward GODFREY (b 1811 Horsington) and Ann SEARLE. On 1851 census lists as residents of Horsington; Edward GODFREY spouse Ann, daughter Emma. By the 1881 census Emma is married to Henry HORSEY of Wincanton and Ann appears to have passed away. There are two sons listed; Fritz GODFREY 18, and Elias GODFREY 12 Edward is listed as a widow and a Master Plasterer, age 70. Emma Jane and Henry had two sons Thomas Godfrey HORSEY b 1866 Wincanton and Birt HORSEY b 1879 Wincanton. They migrated to Australia in 1880 and pioneered the dairy industry in northern New South Wales and far north Queensland.

Am looking for the parents and ancestors of Frederick M. Barnard, b.1835, married Margaret Martha Tucker, b. 1847. They were landed farmers. Family of 10 children emigrated to US c. 1879. The Barnard family home was in Horton, Summersetshire (sic) according to notes by relatives who revisited it in 1928. Also would likr to know parents, and ancestors of wife Margaret Martha Tucker. Anna Maria Tucker, d. 1888 in Australia might have been Margaret Martha's aunt - would like to be able to establish this relatuonship. I have pictures of many family members from this era - small copies of formal portraits - but not identified and would like to be able to identify at least some of them.

Wedding. - There was a large congregation at St. Mary's church on Easter Tuesday to witness the nuptials of Mr. Frank Porter, only son of Mr James Porter, of this parish, and Miss Ada Jones, youngest daughter of Mr. Aaron Jones of Canada Farm, Bleadon. The service was fully choral and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. F. Rose (vicar), the Hymns 350 and 351 being sung. The bride- who was given away by her brother, Mr. J. H. Jones - was attired in a costume of pale blue material and a biscuit colour chiffon hat. She carried a handsome shower bouquet the gift of the bridegroom, and was attended by Misses Mattie and Lucy Jones (cousins of the bride) as bridesmaids, who wore white silk costumes and hats en suite, and carried shower bouquets the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr. A Slade (cousin of the bridegroom) acted as best man. During the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Jones left for London for the honeymoon, amidst the hearty good wishes of their many friends, merry peals being also rung from the belfry. The flowers were supplied by Mr. W. Brooks, Whitecross Nurseries, Weston-super-Mare, and the equipages by Mr. R. J. Dart, Grove Model Mews, Weston-super-Mare.
