I am looking for information about William Rendall born in Chewton Mendip in 1841 married Emma born in Compton Martin.They had Elizabeth,Alice,William J,Lucy,Frank,Maggie and Ernest E. I am the great grand daughter of Frank.
Other villages connectedare Litton,Clutton.Frank later moved to Bristol. He was married to Eva Harding they had 3 children Clifford ,Cecil and Wilfred John(Jack).Frank then married Bessie Vowles they then had Charles Ernest, Dorothy Helen,Lilian Rose,William Frank,MarionAnnie(Nancy),James Vowles,Herbert Joseph,Olive Mary.Any information on any of these names would be most welcome.

I'm looking for information on the parents (or any ancestors) of Lucy Church (Born: 21 Apr 1797
Chewton Mendip, Somerset, England Died: 11 Jul 1874 Wyndham, Vic, Australia). Her parents were William Church and Sarah Bendall.
She married Septimus Davis in Chew Magna on the 25 Dec, 1819.
They left for Australia in 1852, arriving in 1853.

Chant 1700-1800 - Chilthorne Domer, Somerset
There are CHANTs in Chilthorne Domer during this period. They look to have been quite well-to-do farmers so probably are not mine! The village is only a few miles from Stoke-sub-Hamdon, which is my family stamping ground so there could be a connection. One of these CHANTs married a Theophila FAWNE c1874 Stoke-sub-Hamdon and I have both FANE and THORNE in Stoke in my tree so could be a funny spelling of either. Welcome any clues please.

Horsey family - Chilton Cantelo, Somerset
I am searching for the ancestors of William Horsey of Chilton Cantelo b. 1750. I have traced his family back to Queen Camel with the earliest confirmed date being 1714 when James Horsey married Agnes Langdon. The records then suggest that his father came from Hourcot, Somerton, but I haven't been able to confirm this yet.I have some Horsey wills from Somerton going back to 1614, which include the name Moreton. Has anyone any more information, please?

Groves - Chilton Polden, Somerset
John Groves born 1832 in Chilton Polden married Pamella Gay of Dorset,then emigrated to Ontario, Canada probably the spring of 1857. They had 13 children born near Ingersoll, Ontario. Joseph Groves born 1828 in Chilton Polden married Maria Dinham in 1858 and set off for the gold fields of Victoria, Australia, In the next generation nephews and one niece of the above men also went to Ontario, near Ingersoll. Their names were Batten, Clark or Clarke, and Emery.

James Davey(b. 1840)was living in Chilton Polden in early 1880s. His son, Ernest, was tutoring the vicar's children at St Edwards vicarage: the Lucas children. James was m. 3 times and had 7 children: Emma(b.1861), Alice(b.1863), Carolina(b. 1864), Ernest(b. 1865), Annie(b. 1867); Ada(b. 1876) and Arthur(b. 1878).James was variously an innkeeper and gardener.He did apparently own an inn called the "Gardeners Arms".Would this have been in Chilton Polden or Taunton? Would be interested to hear from anyone researching this family/ knows anything about the "Gardeners Arms".

There is an M.I. in the parish church in Churchill - it concerns Samuel Somner Tripp of Balliol College Oxford and Upper Langford died 1809 and his wife Jane Lewis who died 1793 whose family had been parishioners of the church for at least 200 years. I cannot find where these two were married there seem to be no records of the event in Somerset - has anyone reading this any ideas of where I could look next ? Or indeed, any information about either the Tripp or Lewis families ? Any info. much appreciated
