Charles DAY married to Sophia TRIPP (1844); more children recently revealed in 1861 census; William Day age 17, Fanny age 14, Charles age 12, Kate aged 6; Thomas aged 3; my great-grandfather John aged 1. Includes family at The Gardeners Arms Inn, Silver Street, Cheddar during the late 19th/early 20th century (John Day=Emma Stock). Also includes links with Hoskins, Tripp, Stock and Withers families. I have no further info on John Day's brothers and sisters, so details would be welcomed. Please ask about what info I hold.

Looking for info on a business that my Gt Grandfather John William Green born Cheddar 1869 ran with his brother in Cheddar in the late 1880's transporting coal or stone to Bristol and bring one or the other back. Hie horses were apparently poisoned and later moved to Cardiff.

Hi, I am researching my Banwell-Hudson links to Cheddar. My 2 GGmother was Mary Ann Hudson, born in Cheddar. Listed with family, father Henry Hudson and mother Elizabeth nee Banwell in 1852 Census. By 1859, Mary Ann was in Brisbane Australia, married Thomas Henry Jones, 1859. The Elizabeth Banwell doesn't seem to be the Banwells of Keystowe. Any cousins still there? Mary Ann had 2 brothers. Family connections to Chedzoy - Chedzoy, Somerset
I have recently found out that my Grandmother's sister May married a Henry Charles Chedzoy in 1888 (GRO Pontypool). I then found them teaching in Llanfrechfa on the 1901 census; which gave Henry's birthplace as Bridgewater, Somerset. But that was all I had to go on until by chance an acquaintance told me that Chedzoy was a village in Somerset, near Bridgewater! As he was 39 yrs old in 1901, his birth would have been about 1862; I would like to trace who his family might have been?

Would appreciate any information on Charles Henry Coles, born at Shoreditch to James George and Elizabeth (nee Webb)Coles in 1806. He married Hester Sage, daughter of James Sage, sawyer, in 1838 at Bristol and was a schoolmaster and parish clerk at the time. He died in 1842 at Chew Magna and Hester died at Dundry in 1851. Their daughter, Maria, was born at Chew Magna in 1840, and appears in the 1851 census as part of her uncle's household (Thomas Coles) at Easton in Gordano.

1841 census - Looking for ancestors of Charles Weaver c1794, Harriet(wife)c1708, Charles (son)c1823, Sevier (son)c1826, James (Son)c1830, John (son) c1832 and Benjamin (son) c1834. Lived at Silver Street, Tithing of Stone. Have traced both parents and Charles (son) through to their deaths. James left Chew Magna between 1841-1851 with his brother Benjamin. James married Mary Rose in July 1851 and lived in Oldbury, Worcestershire until he died. John stayed in Chew Magna and married Sophia Nash but as far as I can tell died between 1861 and 1871 as Sophia is recorded as a widow on the 1871 census. Have not been able to find out what happened to Sevier after 1841 and don't have much on Benjamin after James's marriage in 1851.( He was a witness at the wedding). Any info on these two would be most welcome.

Hi, I'm looking for information on the parents (or any ancestors) of Septimus Davis (Born: 13 Dec 1794 Somerset, England Died: 4 Aug 1875 Wyndham, Vic, Australia). His parents were John Davis (or Davies) and Sarah Hall. John Davis (Davies) was said to have originally come from Cardiff, Wales. He married Lucy Church in Chew Magna on the 25 Dec, 1819 at St Andrew's Church. Septimus and his siblings were baptised in Methodist, Independent or Dissenting Churches. Many were baptised twice.
