Eyke Family, Bridgnorth - (Bridgnorth - Shropshire)
Searching for family descendants at or near Bridgnorth to exchange family information. My paternal great grandmother was Elizabeth EYKE, born 5 Oct 1841, Bridgnorth, daughter of William EYKE (1813-1896) and his wife Jane PERRY (1811-1891). Elizabeth EYKE and her husband, James WHITE (1839-1896) were married in 1863. They are believed to have had twelve children most of whom remained in England. At least three of their children migrated, as they did, to the USA in the late 1890s and had families in the USA. Before emigrating from England, Elizabeth and James lived for a time at Bradford, Manchester. James was a skilled textile machine mechanic. They had extensive families in Shropshire, Staffordshire, and Worcestershire some of which have been researched. Having visited in 2003, I am somewhat familiar with Bridgnorth and the area around it. Related families are Perry, Matthews, Smith, Eykyn, Rainsford, Cook, Evans, Dodson, and Perkins, Tolley, Jones, Overton, et al.

Piper family - (Bridgnorth - Shropshire)
I am researching my ancestors, the Piper family, of Bridgnorth. They were in the property trade /building in Bridgnorth in the 1700s, and my great great grandfather owned a property called "Vine Cottage" in New Town, Bridgnorth. Then some of the family (William and Mary Piper) moved to Ladywood, Birmingham, where they had a couple of pubs, a baker's, confectioner's and various other properties. My great uncle recalls that the family donated a horse trough to the town of Bridgnorth -situated at the top of the hill near the castle. I have never been to Bridgnorth, so do not know if this trough still exists. There also used to be a "Piper" bed at the old Children's hospital as the family apparently donated money to it. If anyone can assist in my research, I'd be very grateful! Carole
