Trying to find a pub Called The Rising Sun in Dawley, which is no longer there. My Great Grandfather Isaac Vaughan born 1823 lived there. My grandmother Isaac's daughter married John Harry Jones they also lived in Dawley, around 1891

George Ellis publican The George Inn - murder?

I'm looking for details of George Ellis 1870-1951 who was I believe the publican of The George Inn around the 1910 -1915 era. Apparently he was witness to a murder of a young child and had to flee Dawley suddenly. If anyone can shed any light on him, the pub or the murder, I'd be very grateful .

Looking for info re Harriet Williams b. 1826 c. 18/10/1829 Dawley Magna, Shropshire. Parents Benjamin Williams and Sarah Garbett.
Harriet Williams was convicted in Staffordshire Qtr Sessions for stealing (2nd offence) on 4/1/1847 and transported to Van Dieman's Land for 7 years arriving on 2/1/1848.
Not known if she had any siblings.
Don't know what happened to her family when she was transported.
Any help appreciated.

Emily, born Dawley, Shropshire 1890, married Thomas Bull in St Marys Church, Hales, Stafford on July 14, 1926. Thomas was murdered at Witherley Hall Witherly April 26, 1927 so Emily was widowed within a year of marriage. She was almost 25yrs younger than her husband having been a nurse to his first wife Harriet! Did she remarry? Nobody in the family know what happened to her......Any leads much appreciated!!

George Thomas York was my GrGreat Grandfather born 1803 in Sheriff
Hales. Benjamin and Rachael where his parents. He was convicted
in 1845 for stealing a horse, 10years to Australia.
He was married to Ann Lewis-Jones in 1836 and left behind two
daughters,Mary,Martha (my Gr.Grandmother) and George 5 mths old.
They all lived in Dawley. Ann married Michael Garbett some years later and had a son,Michael. Have his court papers but cannot find
what became of him when released.Cannot find him in Australia.

I'm looking for any information on William Tart Coal Miner, apparently the family owned a number of coal pits around the Dawley area; and could possibly be directors of the Stirchly Coal and Iron Co Ltd. William married a Sarah Hawkins, but I have nodate for the marriage. Apparently one of the local pubs in Dawley had a picture of William Tart hung in its bar, this was a few years ago, but any info would be appreciated.

I am looking for information about my great great grandmother (Ellen?)Abbot. She married Robert Agar in 1881. In 1901(census details) she was living in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, gave her age as 44 (born approx. 1857?)and her birthplace as 'Dawley'. Family legend says she was small with red hair (probably auburn); went in to service at age nine(9) years; had a brother who painted china and there is some memory of the town of Broseley. Any information gratefully received as we can find no Ellen Abbot or Abbott of her approximate age in any available lists etc.

We have lots of photographs from the area and of the Tart sisters. The pub that had all these photographs was in Hinksay Road
