Looking for info on Newton family. Grandfather, Edwin Allen Newton was born in Bulwell, Nov. 17, 1891 to Edwin Allen and Emma (Ward) Newton, living at 22 Hempshill Ln, Bulwell. There were 5 other sons born to Edwin & Emma, three of which were William, Arthur, and Gilbert. Great grandfather was a lacemaker at Bromley, and came to the USA (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) around October, 1903. I am interested in any info about either the Newton, or Ward families.

Faulconbridge/Woodward - (Bulwell - Nottinghamshire)
Searching for Faulconbridge, Woodward, Drury, from Bulwell between 1850 and 1925. The Faulconbridges and the Woodwards were coal miners. George Faulconbridge married Elizabeth Woodward in 1900 but they changed their surname to Drury some time between 1900 and 1930. We don't know the reason for this. They had children, Tom, Harry and Lily, and possibly a Joyce. Harry and Lily were given the name Drury as a middle name.

He was married to ELEANOR GREENHILL and they had 11 children. They lived in Latimer St, Bulwell in 1901 & Kentwood Road in 1908 & Queens Road, Beeston in 1945. Does anyone have any memories (or photos) of the Bakers Shop at 94, MAIN STREET, BULWELL. It was run by my Gt Grandfather William James Reardon, I think in the 1940s & 1950s. It was opposite Rollins cycle dealers & near to Steggles sausage shop. William was also a president of the Northern Master Bakers Association if anyone has any info about this too.

Does anyone have any information on the Stevens family who lived at 5, the Buildings, Austin Street, Bulwell. Hannah and John Stevens had six children: Violet, Martha, Pearl, Herbert and Charles. They also had a son named William who later became a Sgt in the Leicestershire Regiment, Service Number: 4853339. Any information would be amazing! I am tracing my famly tree and I am desperate to find out about my grandfather Cyril Lane. I know he came from the Bulwell area of Nottingham and that he married my grandmother Mary Elizabeth Oldham (known as Polly) in about 1925. They had one child, a daughter, my mother Rosamund Mary. He then left when my mother was about 3 years old. I have heard he went to the U.S.A but was never heard of again. He was never talked about or even mentioned when I was a child. I am looking for the descendents of Annie Ffoulkes Tilley, born in Bulwell, Nottingham in 1849. She married a Welsh Inland Revenue clerk, Richard Simpson at St Nicholas Church, Nottingham. Their only son, Stewart, became a chemist and moved to London. He died in the 1890s and left a widow and 2 sons, Thomas and Stewart who appear in Hyde Rd, Shoreditch in the 1901 census. Richard was my great grandfather and Annie was his first wife.

Samuel worked in the Lime Kilns in Bulwell and after this kept the 8 Keys Inn in Quarry Road prior to his death in 1885.

Does anyone have any information on the children born to Mabel and Stephen (aka Owen) Green. Sheila b 1930, Mabel b 1934, Owen b 1935 & Jack A b 1937.
