Hickling family - Barton in Fabis
My great-grandmother Ellen Hickling, born in Barton-in- Fabis 3 April 1842, married William John Brassington, stonemason, in Manchester. I'd love to know more about other members of Ellen's family - I've touched the font in the village church where she and her siblings were christened. Her father was listed as a labourer so probably owned no land.

Looking for info about Maria Worthington b. abt 1864 who married William Gabbitas but especially about her second husband Thomas Allen. Thomas had spent time in India and returned with at least 2 children Charles Edward and Robert and married the widow Maria in Lincoln. Living in Winn St Lincoln on the 1901 and 1911 Census. Hayes family - Beeston
HELP, I am struggling if some-one can please help. I am searching for the Hayes family. George Henry Hayes was b Newark 1882 mother Elizabeth nee Good. Father William Hayes. 1881 census they William and Elizabeth are living with her mother,sister and brother at 1 Portland Yd, Newark. William and Elizabeth are shown as Hoyes so they took some finding.
In 1901 Elizabeth, Albert b 1888 Alice 1892 Arthur 1885 and George b 1881 are all living in Beeston, Notts. All the children were born in Newark. Elizabeth is shown as Married but William is not listed. I cannot find them anywhere on the 1891 census can any one please throw light on this? Elizabeth's mother is still at Portland Yd. George Henry married a Grace Annie Lancashire and lived in Mansfield, Notts.

Elizabeth (Lizzie)Hayes nee Good was living at 57 Middle St Beeston in 1901 with children George Albert Arthur and Alice.
In 1911 Lizzie and Alice plus a boarder Kate Stirland were
living at 10 willoughby St. Beeston.
Does any one know anything about the family.
George married Grace Annie Lancashire in Mansfield Woodhouse in 1904.

John Bramley - Bestwood Village
I went down to the Nottingham archives recently to try to get info on John Bramley my grandmothers father, The land they farmed at Bestwood was owned by The Dukes of St. Albans, descendants of Nell Gwyn. It is very close to where I live. I drew a blank as to where his birth had been registered.(This church not built when born.) Some of the parish registers are badly damaged.

John Edmonds - Bestwood Village
I am trying to find descendants of John and Kate Edmonds who lived in Bestwood Park. John was head gardener at Bestwood Lodge for many years. I believe they had a daughter Kathleen, born about 1900. John was born 1848 in Yorkshire and died 1930 in Bestwood Park.

Sarah Ann Hallam was my g.grandmother born abt 1855.She married my g.grandfather Charles Gibson at Sykehouse(naer Doncaster)on the 13th august 1874.
She is a very hard lady to trace.Icannot find her in the census records,but have got a copy of marriage cert.On the marriage cert She was living at Bridlington Quay,Her father was Wlliam Hallam he was a gardener by trade.

Beals / Winship of Blidworth - Blidworth
I am interested in a family who moved down from Ashington, Northumberland in the late 1920's to Blidworth Notts. The name was Beal / Winship.
Thomas Winship was killed at Rufford pit in 1945 and Annie his wife died in 1961.
Annie had several sons under the name of Beal including Owen (Pat), James and Thomas and a daughter Winnie born in 1925. She did have other daughters with the name Beal.
I would really like to contact living relatives to any of these people.

I'm looking for information on the family of Samuel Frost. He was born about 1801 in Blidworth. He worked as a shoemaker/Cordwainer and Publican. He married Martha Hodgkinson, daughter of Job Hodgkinson and Martha White. His children were: Job b 1823; Thomas b. 1827 who married Hannah Richmond, daughter of Lodge Richmond and Eleanor Redman; Sarah Frost b 1829 who married George Pogson, Ann Frost b 1834 who married John Clarke, John Frost b 1839 who married Hannah Knight, and Eliza Frost b. 1841 who married Charles Revill. Samuel Frost died in 1856. His daughter, Ann Frost Clarke was my ancestor.
