My great-grandmother, Mary-Ann, 'Baguley' b. 1854 recorded her son, my grandfather's surname as Gilbert-Reid, b.1879 Upon her '2nd' marriage, she was recorded as a widow, but I cannot find trace of her '1st' marriage to a Reid. I have vague records of a 'George Gilbert' Mary-Ann marriage George Nayler and he apparently raised my grandfather, Harry, who carried the name of Nayler until an adult, where-upon he change his name to Reid. The Baguley Family from Woodborough, but Mary-Ann and Harry born Arnold. Can anyone help with more info.

My great grandad was Reuben Marriott born 1898 in Derbyshire to Samuel Renshaw Marriott and Mary Riggott. Between 1902-05 his family moved to ARNOLD, where his father was from, and Reuben lived there until the 1940s or 50s. He married Eliza Smith in Arnold in 1922, she was the daughter of Charles Smith. In 1911, Samuel and Mary Marriott were at 46 St Albans Rd, Arnold with 5 children. Does this family ring a bell with anyone? They were coal miners.

Marshall, Barnby Moor, Appleby, Navenby, Dersingham (Norfolk) - Barnby Moor
Looking for anyone who knows the Marshall family of Barnby Moor near Retford. Particularly William Herbert Marshall (born 1893) who married Frances Shadbolt of Warsop. They had a son William Herbert Marshall in 1914 but sadly his young wife of 19 died of tuberculosis in 1915 and is buried in Warsop. William Herbert senior was a gardener as was his older brother and his father William Marshall before him (born Bothamsall). His father died when William Herbert was about 8yrs old and had been a patient in the London chest hospital. William Herbert Marshall became a soldier and was a resident of Appleby, north Lincolnshire when he married my great aunt Florence May Hill in Navenby. Tragedy struck again when his young son died and William committed suicide by drowning at Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire.

My great-grandmother Ellen Hickling, born in Barton-in- Fabis 3 April 1842, married William John Brassington, stonemason, in Manchester. I'd love to know more about other members of Ellen's family - I've touched the font in the village church where she and her siblings were christened.
