William (1792? Harewood? - 1858 Warthill) married Ann Southcoat at Holtby 14 November 1814 but had moved to Warthill by January 1817 when his second son Richard was born. William`s origins are obscure, researchers having identified Whixley and (more likely) Weardley in Harewood Parish as his probable birthplace. The 1851 census gives William`s birthplace as "Wheadley" which opens up too many possibilities. I`d be glad to hear from anyone who thinks they have solved the puzzle.
