Viewly Hill built in the year 1833
- Northallerton
I have not had any luck locating Viewly Hill. I have since found the districts of Northallerton and Thirsk appear to have Viewly Hill names in the area - maybe the Bamforths had links further afield from Hunslet ...... just worth a try.
"Can anyone help me to trace a 'Viewly Hill'. I have wondered if it might have been somewhere in the Hunslet area. I have 2 Samplers worked by an ancestor of mine who was born in Hunslet in 1823:- One shows a brick built house with caption - "Front view of Viewly Hill built in the year 1833" Helen bamforth's work 1837. (The second has designs and verse - "Helen bamforth's work, aged 14 yrs.) Her father was George bamforth b.Hunslet,1801. It would be fascinating to find Viewly Hill and possibly further my family research."

Bell Family of Thirsk
- Old Thirsk
Hello! I am descended from a Joseph Bell and Shadrach Bell of Thirsk, Yorkshire. Supposedly Shadrach was born on or about 1650. His father, Joseph, supposedly b. 1606. These dates extracted from LDS records in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, but from my understanding, there may be errors in those records. Anyone know anything about these Bells? Could they be related to the more famous Bells of Thirsk, Robert & Ralph Bell?
