Duddington Watermill / Cornmill - Duddington
My forebears rented these premises. Married in 1878 in Duddington great-grandfather W H Astin (1854-1888)was Cornmiller originally from Ketton. His widow Charlotte Astin (1854/5-1921) (nee Elliot) continued until circa 1892/3 then the Astin family left the area. They had a daughter, four sons, and servants. Dainty family in Duddington - Duddington
John Dainty (b.Geddington 1808) lived in Duddington from at least 1851 until 1881. The 1851 census shows 4 children and the 1861 adds another.The eldest girl is called Hannah Corbett Dainty and the eldest son George Corbett Dainty. If Sarah(b.Kettlethorpe1826) was John's first wife she would only have been 16 when Hannah was born. I am trying to trace the origin of the name Corbett in the family as it reappears 3 generations later when John's Gt. Gt. nephew is named Hugh Corbett Dainty. I have so far been unable to trace an earlier marriage for John. Does anybody know anything that might help.

John Flavell was believed to be in Duston in about 1837 where he was described as a miller. He later moved to Bell Green, Foleshill, Warwickshire.

Katterns - Duston
I am researching the Northamptonshire Leach side of my family tree. The Leaches were mainly in the shoe trade in Duston/Dallington/St James End in Northampton. Percy Katterns Leach was born in 1883 to John Leach (father James) and Annie Wagstaff. I have not come across the name Katterns before, but it seems to be a surname which appears rarely in Northants and other counties. I would be interested to hear from anyone with this surname, or whose tree includes it. Many thanks.

Valentine, Walter William - missing. - Duston
Looking for Walter William Valentine, born Bedford 1848, who was known to be in Duston with wife Ellen and children in 1873. Soon after this, Ellen moved back to Bedford with the children and it is thought that Walter may have stayed on in Northamptonshire (possibly Kettering or Duston) and had a second family, using an assumed surname. Need help to locate Walter (my great grandfather) Any suggestions welcome.

Knight Family - Earls Barton
I'm looking for info on John Fredrick Knight (b: 1871 Earls Barton) and Eliza Ellen (nee Abbott) Knight (1873 England)-{they were married in 1896 in Earls Barton}. I've some info but can't seem to find them on any census. I also can't find anything else on them such as their parents or if they had any brothers or sisters. They came to Canada (in the early 1920s on one of the Cunard ships) to Point Edward, Ontario where their daughter (my Grandmother) lived. JAMES - Earls Barton
I am looking for information on the JAMES family of Earls Barton. I have traced back to SAMUEL James (died 1693), married to Rachel BETT. Their children were John, Elizabeth (x2), Ann and Samuel. I would be interested to hear from any descendants. I am also keen to get information on earlier family members (The James family are recorded in EB back to the 1500s). They may also be related to the James families who sailed to America with the Winthrop Fleet in 1630, and were among the the first settlers in Massachusetts and Salem. If anyone has any information on this I would appreciate hearing from them.
