My great-great-great-grandfather, Thomas Hopkins was born in Finedon in about 1841. He was a shoemaker and Journeyman and in 1881 lived in Ivy Lane, Finedon with his wife Elizabeth (formerley Sayer) and children; Ellen, Charlotte, John Edwin (my great-great-grandfather), Emily, Sarah A and Florence B.

John Edwin Hopkins is my great-great-grandfather. Was was born in Finedon on 30 12 1868 to Thomas Hopkins and Elizabeth Sayer. In 1881 he lived with his parents and sisters in Ivy Lane, Finedon. In 1881 he married Mary Jane BAY(E)S in Wellingborough Registry Office. His marriage certificate lists him a a courier. At different times he ran the Five Bells public house in Riseley, Bedfordshire, had a courier business and manager a farm at Raunds, Northamptonshire. He died on 31 7 1950 and isburied in Riseley churchyard with his wife.
